The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a document requesting wards, communes and special zones to review information on students' "current residence" in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year's enrollment.
Localities are required to closely coordinate with the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City in managing and authenticating enrollment data, ensuring consistency with the education sector database and the national population data system. Information needs to be fully updated, including the number of school-age children and student residence data through the VNeID system, ensuring accuracy, validity and consistency.
Based on the enrollment plan issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones must develop detailed enrollment plans for grades 1 and 6 in accordance with actual conditions, ensuring that 100% of school-age children can attend school as prescribed.
Enrollment is required to comply with the targets and plans for school network development, limit overload and not exceed the permitted scale. For grade 10 enrollment, districts and Thu Duc City follow the general plan of the City, and plan exam scores based on the number of grade 9 students in the locality.
In the 2026-2027 school year, admission to the first level will be conducted entirely online at: https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn.
Localities are responsible for receiving and initially handling parents' feedback within their authority; at the same time, synthesizing and reporting to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City for content beyond their authority.
The entire admission process must ensure fairness, objectivity, openness and transparency; no negativity or illegal interference will occur. The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires units to absolutely keep personal information of students and parents confidential; in case of violation, they must be held responsible according to regulations.
In particular, localities do not require parents to provide additional records or documents if the information has been verified on the VNeID system, except in cases where verification is required or as required by law.
