Quang Binh women turn to flooded areas

(QBĐT) - In recent days, in order to join hands to share the difficulties with people in Quang Ninh and Le Thuy districts who were severely affected by flooding, Women's Unions at all levels in the province have actively implemented many timely and meaningful support activities.

Women of Nam Ly ward (Dong Hoi city) support people in flooded areas.

In Dong Hoi City, under the direction of the City Women's Union, all levels of the union have proactively and flexibly implemented activities to support people in flood-hit areas. Chairwoman of the Nam Ly Ward Women's Union Pham Mai Huong said that, understanding the needs of people in terms of food and provisions, the women's union members of the ward have just supported people in Tan Ninh Commune (Quang Ninh) with 200 meals, 200 boxes of milk, 200 dry food cakes, 50 boxes of lemongrass floss, 2 boxes of brown rice cakes... This is the sentiment and sharing of the women of Nam Ly Ward to people in flood-hit areas. In the near future, based on the needs of the people, the ward Women's Union will continue to have other support trips.

In Bac Ly ward, the Women's Union also donated essential necessities to the people, including: 189 barrels of water, 20 barrels of milk, 20 barrels of cakes, 75 barrels of dry food, and 50 barrels of instant noodles.

According to the President of the Quang Phu Commune Women's Union, Dinh Thi Tuyet Thu, the association, in conjunction with philanthropists, plans to support the people in the flood-hit areas of Quang Binh with 1,000 meals, drinking water, some common medicines, sanitary napkins, diapers, etc. On October 30, 2024, 300 meals were delivered to the people of Tan Ninh Commune and 200 meals to the people of Loc Thuy Commune (Le Thuy). In the coming time, the support activities will continue to be effectively implemented by the Commune Women's Union.

In Quang Ninh district, despite being severely affected by flooding, women still share, care for each other, and support each other in difficult times. In particular, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Quang Ninh district Nguyen Thi Nhu Ngoc shared that women in An Ninh commune (Quang Ninh) in a dry area with little flooding, "the less torn leaves cover the more torn leaves" have proactively cooked 300 meals together and given water, milk, and cakes to the people.
