Visiting Tu Le commune these days, we can easily feel the changing face of the countryside. Inter-village roads are adorned with vibrant flowers, houses are well-built, and the rural environment is becoming increasingly clean and beautiful. In this journey of building a new rural area, local officials and women's association members have been demonstrating a sense of responsibility, working together with the Party committee, government, and people to build a more prosperous homeland.

The Women's Union of Tu Le commune has 1,564 members, organized into 16 branches. Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, the Women's Union has carried out many practical activities in recent times, such as: promoting the "5 No's, 3 Cleanliness" family building campaign; launching environmental sanitation campaigns, collecting waste, and clearing drainage ditches; planting and caring for women-managed flower-lined roads; encouraging members to renovate their houses, build "Clean House, Beautiful Garden" models, and sort household waste; coordinating participation in rural road construction and cultural house renovation; supporting members in developing family economies and achieving sustainable poverty reduction; and promoting security, order, and prevention of child marriage and social vices.
To date, women's associations at all levels in the commune have effectively maintained two self-managed flower-lined roads with a total length of over 2 km; and installed 16 signs designating them as "Model Clean Houses and Beautiful Gardens". In 2025, female officials and members of the commune contributed over 600 days of labor; donated over 220 m² of residential and garden land; contributed money to build new rural infrastructure projects; and organized over 120 environmental sanitation sessions, attracting thousands of members to participate.
From the beginning of 2026 until now, women's association members in the commune have contributed over 150 days of labor to environmental sanitation, clearing rural roads, and beautifying residential areas.
On weekends, the sight of women's association members working together to sweep village roads, clear drainage ditches, and tend to flowerbeds has become familiar in many hamlets and villages of the commune. Through these activities, people's awareness of environmental protection and preserving the rural landscape has gradually and significantly improved.
Ms. Ha Thi Dia, head of the Women's Association in Ta Sung village, shared: "Previously, many households lacked awareness of maintaining public hygiene, and household waste was often thrown around indiscriminately. Since the Women's Association began its awareness campaigns and organizing regular cleaning sessions, people have gradually changed their perceptions and are working together to keep the village roads cleaner and more beautiful. We also encourage our family members to do the same to build a more civilized village."

Many women-owned economic models have contributed to raising incomes and creating resources for local communities to build new rural areas.
The Women's Union of the commune has identified the goal of building new rural areas as further improving all aspects of life for its members, thereby creating motivation for members to contribute resources and efforts to jointly build and complete the commune to meet the standards of a new rural area. Through entrusted capital from the Social Policy Bank, the Women's Union has facilitated members' access to preferential capital for production development. Currently, the total outstanding loans from the capital sources managed by the union reach nearly 15 billion VND, with nearly 200 members borrowing capital for economic development.
Thanks to preferential loan capital, many members have boldly invested in developing effective economic models. This has not only increased the income of the members but also created positive resources for building new rural areas. The family of Ms. Lo Thi Nga in Ban Cong village is one of the members who has effectively developed their economy through a model combining community tourism and food service business.
Ms. Nga said: “Previously, our family's economy mainly relied on agricultural production, so our income was unstable. After receiving guidance from the women's association, assistance with loans, and participation in training courses, my family boldly invested in community tourism. Currently, our family's annual income reaches nearly 200 million VND, and with a stable economy, I actively contribute resources to building new rural areas.”

Ms. Hoang Thi Moi, Chairwoman of the Women's Association of Tu Le Commune, said: "Building new rural areas is a task that requires the participation of the entire political system and the people, in which women play a very important role. We always focus on innovating the content and methods of the association's activities in conjunction with the criteria of new rural areas."
"Each member is educated to understand that building new rural areas begins with concrete actions such as maintaining environmental hygiene, developing family economies, and building happy families," Ms. Moi shared.
The achievements of women's movements have not only contributed to accelerating the process of achieving the new rural standard in Tu Le commune, but have also created positive changes in the lives of people in the highlands. From clean and beautiful roads and effective economic models to changes in the awareness of each family, all demonstrate the role, responsibility, and practical contributions of local women towards the goal of building a sustainable, prosperous, and beautiful new rural area.
