ANTD.VN - On the morning of November 16, the People's Committee of Phu Quoc City and the People's Committee of An Thoi Ward held a launching ceremony for Bai Dat Do Public Beach, a coastal walking street belonging to the International Sea Square project, to increase public utilities and meet the needs of residents and tourists .

The launch of the public beach at Bai Dat Do is considered the next step of the local government, in the campaign to beautify and modernize the urban face of the island city, towards the major goal set out in the Master Plan of Phu Quoc City to 2040: becoming an island city; a high-quality tourism and resort service center; a regional and international high-tech trade, service and health care center. The project is implemented by An Thoi ward with socialized capital fromSun Group Corporation.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Le Quang Minh, Party Secretary, Chairman of An Thoi Ward People's Committee affirmed: "The Bai Dat Do public beach project is invested from socialized sources, sponsored by Phu Quoc Sun Limited Liability Company. After completion, it will be handed over to An Thoi Ward for management and use. The Bai Dat Do public beach project is put into use with the purpose of serving the community, in addition, it is also a destination to connect, synchronize, effectively exploit the potential advantages of the locality, creating momentum for the economic development of An Thoi Ward in particular and Phu Quoc in general. I believe that with the special attention of the provincial and city leaders, the consensus of the people, the companionship of businesses, An Thoi Ward will have a modern, civilized public beach, serving the people, the locality and tourists, becoming an indispensable destination for the community".

The Red Land Public Beach and the coastal walking street belong to phase 1 of the International Sea Square project in An Thoi, with a total area of 16.96 hectares. The project is carried out on the Red Land Beach area, about 1.7km long, with great potential for tourism exploitation such as fine white sand and clear blue water. However, the landscape is currently wild, many spontaneous restaurants, fishing ports and cruise ship ports have not been properly invested, causing environmental pollution and wasting resources.

After being planned as a public beach, Bai Dat Do Beach will be landscaped, cleared of garbage, and planted with 2,500 coconut trees and green trees, creating a beautiful and high-quality beach to serve the people and tourists. In particular, when the beach is put into use, it will overcome and end the situation of people swimming at spontaneous bathing spots along the road, which is not safe, especially for children and students... Upgrading and building the beach will combine to overcome the environmental pollution in this area, especially pollution caused by wastewater from residential areas, which has existed for many years.

In phase 1, An Thoi ward will simultaneously deploy a 9m wide coastal walking street, running along the length of the beach, with trees, landscapes, modern lighting systems, creating a space for walking and relaxing sightseeing for residents and visitors when coming to the beach. Many other amenities will also be added on the walking street such as restaurants, coastal bars, event venues for fairs, outdoor exhibitions... turning this place into a new and attractive public entertainment venue of Phu Quoc.

In the future, when the International Sea Square project is put into the next stages, a complete public space will be created, with the square axis facing the sea - a place for water music and light performances, large-scale international festivals and exhibitions, outdoor carnivals, etc. The heart of the sea square will be the Sao Bien Square, with a design that creates a special visual impression, honoring one of the symbolic creatures of Phu Quoc. From the square, the walking path will connect to unique works including the Elephant Ear Theater, the Ocean International Exhibition Center, restaurants, bars, etc. with extremely unique architecture, inspired by Phu Quoc's marine creatures such as elephant ear clams or nautilus snails and the pristine nature of the pearl island.

The most impressive part of the Sea Square complex is the Elephant Ear Theater combined with the Sea Port - a berth for luxury yachts. This place will not only be a place for cultural and artistic events, but also a sea connection center, promising to become a "new Sydney" of Asia. In addition, so that visitors to the South Island can admire the panoramic view of the Sea Square and the beach from above, a 21m high Observation Tower will also be built.

In the future, when the project is completed, Phu Quoc will own a top-class Sea Square in the region, an international cultural and artistic center worthy of the position of "the second most beautiful island in the world after Maldives", according to the votes of readers of the famous travel magazine Travel + Leisure.

Phu Quoc's launching of the International Sea Square project, with the first items being the Public Beach and coastal promenade, also affirms the city's vision, determination and fierceness in the work of beautifying and modernizing the urban landscape, gradually bringing Phu Quoc to sustainable development, becoming a green, clean and beautiful island with iconic high-class works.
