Phu Tho provides free surgery for disabled children

The program of examination and surgery for disabled children in difficult circumstances in Phu Tho province has just been deployed on a large scale by Center 2 - Vietnam Association for Relief of Disabled Children, Phu Tho Provincial Department of Health, Phu Tho Provincial Children's Fund and Phu Tho Provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital, with the main sponsorship of Thien Tam Fund (Vingroup Corporation).

Phu Tho provides free surgery for disabled children.

The program examined more than 600 children, performed a total of 127 free surgeries with many cases having been effectively intervened, including deformities such as: ptosis, polydactyly, strabismus, cleft palate, clubfoot, X-shaped foot, cleft lip, Achilles tendon contracture, cryptorchidism, etc. Many complicated surgical cases have been successfully treated, bringing positive results.

After surgery, all children in the program are cared for and treated at Phu Tho Province Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and are monitored, evaluated post-operatively, and scheduled for regular check-ups. In particular, all costs for examination, treatment, and surgery for children are completely free. In addition, children are also supported with food and living expenses during treatment. Within the framework of the program, many children received free hearing aids, and dozens of other disabled children were given assistive devices such as wheelchairs and prosthetic legs.
