At the conference, social assistance facilities and children's protection funds in the province reported on the unit's performance in the first 6 months of the year and made recommendations and proposals on a number of contents that need to continue implementing assigned tasks after the province's merger.

In particular, it is proposed to issue operating regulations, guide the functions and tasks of the unit; pay attention to investing funds to renovate, repair and maintain works and equipment for units performing social assistance and child protection tasks; research and issue policies to continue expanding the reception of social assistance beneficiaries.
Coordination between social assistance facilities and child protection funds with local authorities when implementing the two-level local government model; assessing the impact of specific resolutions on social assistance and child protection after the resolutions expire to review and propose competent authorities to issue new resolutions on social assistance and child protection unified throughout the province after the merger.
According to the Department of Health, there are currently more than 143,000 people receiving monthly social benefits in the community in the province; nearly 560,000 elderly people aged 60 and over, accounting for 14.25% of the province's population, of which more than 50,000 elderly people are receiving monthly social benefits according to the Law on the Elderly.
The province has more than 910,000 children, accounting for 24% of the population, of which more than 10,000 are children in special circumstances. There are currently 4 social assistance facilities in the province, receiving, managing, caring for, nurturing, and rehabilitating nearly 800 homeless elderly people; children in special circumstances; and people with disabilities.
