The historic Route 5 is now National Highway 29 connecting Phu Yen province with Dak Lak province. 48 years ago, from the key battle to destroy the Cau Chay stronghold (Hoa Dong commune, Tay Hoa district), opening the campaign, to the victory on Route 5, disintegrating the puppet army in the strategy of withdrawing troops from Buon Ma Thuot to Tuy Hoa plain, ending the campaign to liberate Phu Yen on April 1, 1975.
After 48 years of the victory of Route 5, these days the route through Tay Hoa district has taken on a new vitality. Many new housing areas have sprung up, urban areas have been expanded; village roads and alleys have been paved with smooth concrete, creating a vivid picture of local socio -economic development.
