Plan to relocate vegetable, fish and poultry vendors at Vinh Long market

(VLO) The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Official Dispatch No. 4152 on agreeing with the plan to relocate, arrange and rearrange the product lines of Vinh Long market and the headquarters of the Vinh Long Market Management Board (BQL) as proposed by the Department of Industry and Trade.

The relocation is to serve the river embankment project to ensure safety for people.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, for the 57 stalls selling fish sauce, dried fish, and vegetables currently operating in the vegetable market area: 20 stalls selling dried fish and fish sauce will be arranged on the sidewalk in front of the market area II and the sidewalk at the intersection of Nguyen Van Nha and Hung Vuong streets next to the parking lot of the General Department store; 37 stalls selling vegetables on the sidewalk of 1/5 street in the parking lot of the market area A (the current parking lot will be moved to Bach Dang street along the market area A).

There are 138 lots of fresh fish, seafood, live poultry, ready-made poultry, and ice distribution points that will be arranged in 3 rows on the roadway and sidewalk of 1 Thang 5 Street (from Bach Dang Bridge - vegetable and fruit market), sidewalk of Nguyen Van Nha Street (towards the market in Zone A) and area of 26 kiosks (river embankment of the market). Specifically, 25 lots of fish warehouses and fish dealers will operate from 6pm the previous day to 6am the next day.

During the day, the above industry will return the premises to 109 households selling individual fish, seafood, poultry, frozen fish, fish balls, pork intestines, crabs, snails, turtles, snakes, and freshwater fish. The ice distribution point will be arranged in 4 lots in the area of 26 kiosks (the embankment of the market river).

In the relocation area, prefabricated kiosks will be built, the ground surface will be upgraded, business electricity systems, security electricity, cameras, water supply and drainage systems, fire protection systems, etc. will be installed to create favorable conditions for trading for traders and residents. Traders will relocate as soon as the relocation area is completed, and lots will be drawn to receive business lots.
