Chairman of An Nhon Dong Ward People's Committee, Mai Xuan Tien, delivered the opening speech.
In his opening remarks at the festival, Mr. Mai Xuan Tien, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Nhon Dong Ward, stated that, building on the success of the two previous An Nhon Town Yellow Apricot Blossom Festivals, the First An Nhon Dong Yellow Apricot Blossom Festival in 2026 is a unique cultural and tourism event aimed at introducing to residents and tourists the historical, cultural, natural, and human values, as well as the tourism development potential of the ward. It also aims to honor the beauty, cultural and artistic essence, and skillful hands of apricot blossom growers in the traditional apricot blossom villages. Through the festival, the aim is to preserve and promote the beauty of apricot blossoms in the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) culture of the nation, develop An Nhon Dong Yellow Apricot Blossoms in conjunction with community tourism development, and build the An Nhon Yellow Apricot Blossom brand into a representative brand.
At the festival, locals and tourists will have the opportunity to admire 150 beautifully shaped and unique apricot blossom trees; watch artisans compete in creating artistic apricot blossom shapes; and participate in cultural and sporting activities that reflect the local identity, such as lion dances, street festivals, traditional folk singing performances, classical opera, human chess competitions, Tet cake making contests, calligraphy demonstrations, and more. In addition, visitors can immerse themselves in the tranquil, ancient atmosphere and picturesque riverside scenery of Thien Hung Temple.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang delivered a congratulatory speech.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang emphasized that the yellow apricot blossom is not only a characteristic flower of the Southern Tet holiday, but also a symbol of Vietnamese character, resilient against sun and wind, elegant in form, and radiant when spring arrives. Each blooming apricot blossom is a message of faith, hope, and aspiration to rise above.
He stated that Binh Dinh's yellow apricot blossoms have been recognized with geographical indication – a significant milestone affirming the brand value, quality, and prestige of the local product in the market. This is not only an honor for the apricot growers of An Nhon but also a shared asset of the former Binh Dinh province and the current Gia Lai province, requiring us to continue to preserve, develop, and elevate its value.

Acknowledging and commending the efforts and determination of An Nhon Dong ward in organizing the Yellow Apricot Blossom Festival, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Lam Hai Giang expressed his hope that the festival will continue to be maintained and organized more professionally and on a larger scale, not only in An Nhon Dong ward but also in other wards and communes in the province, making the Yellow Apricot Blossom Festival a unique annual cultural and tourism event of the locality, contributing to the preservation of traditional crafts, enhancing the artistic value of apricot blossom bonsai, and improving the lives of the people.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang believes that each person participating in the festival will not only admire the beauty of the apricot blossoms, but also feel the depth of culture, the spirit of solidarity, and the aspiration for development of their homeland.

The Golden Apricot Blossom Festival takes place over 10 days (from February 13th to 23rd) with many rich and vibrant activities, promising to be a highlight of the Spring Festival and Tet celebrations for locals and tourists, and to preserve and elevate the apricot blossom cultivation profession in the golden apricot blossom capital of Central Vietnam. Immediately after the opening ceremony, locals and tourists immersed themselves in lively singing and dancing performances, creating a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere to welcome the new Year of the Horse 2026.
