Thuong Cat Ward: First consultation meeting approves the structure of candidates for the People's Council for the 2026-2031 term.

HNP - On December 6th, the Fatherland Front Committee of Thuong Cat Ward held its first consultative meeting to agree on the structure, composition, and number of candidates for the Ward People's Council for the 2026-2031 term. Attending the meeting was Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Thuong Cat Ward Party Committee.

Speaking at the conference, the Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Thuong Cat Ward, Van Thuy Hoa, emphasized the special importance of the first consultative conference, urging Front members to uphold the spirit of solidarity and responsibility to discuss and agree on important criteria for building the proposed structure, composition, and number of candidates to be nominated for the Ward People's Council in the new term.

Based on the proposal presented by the Standing Committee of the Ward People's Council, the delegates engaged in lively discussions and unanimously agreed on a total of 16 representatives for the Ward People's Council, in accordance with regulations. The proposed number, structure, and composition of 35 representatives is deemed appropriate. This includes 10 representatives from political organizations; 10 from ward-level state agencies; 5 from the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; 4 from the armed forces; 3 from economic organizations; 1 from social (religious) organizations; and 2 from neighborhood groups.

In particular, the conference unanimously agreed on the number of delegates to ensure the structural requirements of Resolution 107, such as a minimum of 35% female delegates; no less than 15% young delegates; no less than 10% non-Party members in the official list of candidates; and over 30% re-elected members.

The ward leaders instructed the Standing Committee of the Ward Fatherland Front Committee, immediately after receiving the notification of the adjustment to the structure, composition, and number of candidates nominated for the Ward People's Council, term 2026-2031, to coordinate with the Standing Committee of the Ward People's Council to allocate the number and composition of candidates to the relevant agencies, organizations, and units; to coordinate in guiding the nomination process, organizing the collection of opinions from voters at their workplaces, and preparing the necessary documents as prescribed.

The first consultative conference was a great success. This provides a solid foundation for subsequent consultative steps to be conducted in accordance with the law, ensuring the selection of worthy representatives with sufficient integrity, talent, and vision to represent the legitimate voice and aspirations of the people of Thuong Cat ward for the 2026-2031 term.
