Viet Hung Ward is stepping up its efforts to promote food safety at large gatherings and banquets.

HNP - In order to strengthen food safety assurance, especially during large gatherings at historical sites, festivals, and residential communities, on the afternoon of January 22nd, the People's Committee of Viet Hung Ward organized a conference to disseminate information and sign commitments to ensure food safety at historical sites, festivals, and in residential communities within the ward.

Attending the conference were Comrade Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Viet Hung Ward, and Deputy Head of the Food Safety Steering Committee of Viet Hung Ward; representatives from the Department of Culture and Social Affairs and the Ward Health Station; members of the Food Safety Monitoring and Advisory Team; heads of residential groups, heads of the Fatherland Front Committee, representatives of catering establishments, and all members of the 9 subcommittees managing historical sites in the ward.

In her directive speech at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Thuy emphasized: In the context of Viet Hung ward officially entering a new development phase after the merger, with a large population, a wide geographical area, and an increasing number of festivals and community activities, food safety assurance is facing very high demands. Currently, the ward has nearly 1,500 food establishments, with the food service sector accounting for a large proportion; in the last six months of 2025 alone, approximately 600 large-scale banquets for 60 or more people were organized at historical sites and residential areas.

Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Viet Hung Ward, delivered a speech at the conference.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, the risk of food safety violations remains ever-present, especially at large gatherings, if not strictly controlled from the selection of ingredients, processing, preservation, to serving. In light of this reality, the Ward People's Committee has proactively strengthened the Food Safety Steering Committee, established monitoring teams, maintained inter-agency inspection teams and food poisoning investigation and handling teams, and is ready to respond to any arising situations.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Thuy requested that the Subcommittees managing historical sites, catering establishments, and food safety enforcement forces at the local level further enhance their sense of responsibility, considering food safety assurance not only as a legal requirement but also as a responsibility towards the health of the people and the reputation of the locality.

A commitment to ensure food safety was signed between the People's Committee of Viet Hung Ward and 9 sub-committees managing historical sites in the area.

Immediately following the opening remarks, the conference held a signing ceremony for a commitment to ensure food safety between the People's Committee of Viet Hung Ward and the 9 Subcommittees managing historical sites in the area. Each Subcommittee sent representatives to sign the commitment in the presence of the Ward People's Committee leaders and members of the Food Safety Steering Committee. The signing clearly demonstrates the Subcommittees' determination to strictly comply with food safety regulations and proactively coordinate with the government and relevant authorities in managing and supervising large gatherings and events at historical sites and festivals.

Many representatives of the Sub-committee on Monument Management also affirmed that signing the commitment is not merely a formality but a binding commitment to specific responsibilities, contributing to raising awareness of law compliance and building an image of a civilized, safe, and friendly festival for the people and tourists.

Officials from the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Viet Hung ward directly implemented the propaganda and training content.

Within the framework of the program, Ms. Le Thi Thanh Luong, an officer from the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Viet Hung Ward, directly implemented the content of propaganda, training, and guidance on organizing large-scale gatherings for feasts. The propaganda content focused on clarifying the concept of large-scale gatherings for feasts; the mandatory conditions regarding facilities, equipment, and cooking utensils; and the requirements for those directly involved in cooking, including health checks, full personal protective equipment, and strict adherence to food safety and hygiene procedures.

Comrade Le Thi Thanh Luong also emphasized important considerations in selecting input materials, such as: food must have a clear origin, fresh meat from other provinces must have a quarantine certificate; absolutely no food without invoices or documents, expired food, or food showing signs of spoilage should be used. In addition, distinguishing between raw and cooked food, arranging hygienic preparation and processing areas, and properly storing cooked food are mandatory requirements to prevent the risk of food poisoning…

Representatives from the Sub-committee for the Management of Historical Sites and Catering Establishments in Viet Hung Ward attended the Conference.

Through the Conference, delegates and representatives of the Sub-committee on Monument Management and catering establishments were equipped with additional knowledge and skills necessary to ensure food safety, contributing to raising awareness and changing behavior in organizing feasts at festivals and in residential communities, especially during the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026.
