Vinh Hung Ward searches for musical talent among high school students for the first time

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Festival, Vice Chairman of Vinh Hung Ward People's Committee Quan Thi Van Anh said: The first Musical Talent Festival for High School Students, 2025-2026 school year of Vinh Hung Ward aims to realize the goal of comprehensive education , focusing on developing aesthetic capacity and artistic expression skills for high school students; gradually encouraging each student to become familiar with and proficiently use at least one musical instrument suitable to their interests and age.

"The festival does not only stop at finding talents, but also contributes to comprehensive education and developing aesthetic capacity for students. Thereby, it encourages the preservation and promotion of traditional musical values in parallel with the absorption of modern musical quintessence appropriate to the age group," emphasized comrade Quan Thi Van Anh.

There are 8 piano solo performances participating in the festival from 2 blocks: Primary block includes contestants from 4 schools: Linh Nam, Thanh Tri, Vinh Hung, Vinh Tuy and Secondary block includes contestants from 4 schools: Linh Nam, Thanh Tri, Vinh Hung, Vinh Tuy.

As a result, in the Primary School category: Tran Sy Dat - 5A7, Vinh Tuy Primary School won the first prize; 1 second prize: Nguyen Thuy Duong - 4A4, Thanh Tri Primary School; 02 third prizes, including: Pham Nhat Nam - 4A3, Linh Nam Primary School and Tran Thanh Tam - 4A4, Vinh Hung Primary School.

In the Junior High School category, Tran Thien Khang - 8A13, Vinh Hung Junior High School won first prize; 01 second prize: Nguyen Huy Bach - 6H, Vinh Tuy Junior High School; 02 third prizes, including: Tran Bao Minh - 9A10, Linh Nam Junior High School and Hoang Thuy Duong - 6A3, Thanh Tri Junior High School.

The festival participants are students currently studying at primary and secondary schools (public and non-public) in Vinh Hung ward.

In terms of format, contestants will compete in the Piano Solo category. To increase the appeal, the performance can use pre-recorded background music or have a supporting band.

Previously, the schools organized a festival and selected the best performance to participate in the ward-level competition. At the ward-level competition, the Organizing Committee will select the best performance to represent Vinh Hung ward to participate in the City-level Festival (expected to take place before December 20, 2025).

Vinh Hung Ward requires units to proactively propagate and mobilize students to participate voluntarily, without coercion, creating favorable conditions in terms of time and facilities for students to practice and compete; not affecting the teaching and learning activities of the school.

Contest entries must be suitable for high school students; ensure educational value, aesthetics and healthy cultural orientation. Do not perform works with offensive content or inappropriate for the pedagogical environment.
