In a universe created by the five elements of Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth, the sounds of the piano, violin, saxophone, and string quintet "paint" a picture of human life, full of emotions of joy and sadness, passionate love, loss and separation, and childhood memories.
That is the content of the mini album “Hoi anh am nhac ” by musician Tong Duc Cuong (Cuong Tong) which has just been released to the audience. He has just returned to Vietnam after completing his Master’s program at the China Conservatory of Music.
At the age of 19, Cuong Tong won the First Prize of Group B of the Symphony - Chamber Music Talent Competition called "Autumn Concours 2007." After that, he spent more than 13 years studying and working in the Chinese art market.

In a highly competitive market like China, pianist, musician, and music producer Cuong Tong has built a solid position for himself. He composed songs for more than 8 Chinese TV series and movies, produced and arranged nearly 80 songs with diverse styles and genres that have been released in China, along with producing game music and music for major sporting events.
Notable examples include composing songs for the movie "Painted Skin: Love Ear" (2024), being the Music Director for the movie "Ten Days and Nights of Magic" (2020); composing the soundtrack for the movie "Young God of War Zhou Yu" (2020); producing music for the movies "Wen Chaorong" (2018), "Great Hero" (2018), "Three Kingdoms: Undefeated Warrior" (2021)...

Cuong Tong said this is the right time, with all the elements of "heavenly time, favorable location, and harmony of people" for him to contribute to the audience and the country's art market.
With “Musical Recollections,” he introduces five instrumental works that are as consistent as a cinematic film telling a musical journey with full nuances and emotional progression. They are: “Love Waltz,” “Listening to the Sea,” “Fire,” “Autumn,” and “Childhood Memories.” Each work represents an element: Metal, Water, Fire, Wood, and Earth, which is also the inspiration for visual director Do Hong Son to create the MV for this album.

If “Waltz of Love” marks the beginning of a pure love, then “Listen to the Sea” has an inner struggle, intensity, conflict and struggle, culminating in “Fire” with separation and breakup. The work “Autumn” is a gentle, peaceful emotion after loss. And “Childhood Memories” is a return to the self.
Commenting on Cuong Tong's musical product, People's Artist Quang Tho said that the 5 instrumental works combined into a coherent whole like a story, an emotional journey to become a large, comprehensive work. It is no longer a mini work as the musician modestly admitted, but an instrumental work with artistic value and not every musician can do it./.
Cuong Tong was born in 1987, the son of musician Duc Minh - one of the representative faces of modern Vietnamese music. Musician Duc Minh is the author of hundreds of songs, instrumental, theatrical and dance works. He was awarded the State Prize for Literature and Arts in 2007.
