On the evening of December 5, Ms. HA and her friends went to eat beef hotpot with vinegar at a famous restaurant in Hanoi .
The customer said that while she was eating, she suddenly noticed a strange phenomenon in a piece of brisket. The meat had lumps and small white maggot-like spots.

Concerned about the quality of the food, Ms. HA told the staff to report it. However, the restaurant did not explain clearly to the customer nor apologize.
Finally, the two guests paid in full for their meal and shared their experience on their personal pages with the aim of reminding everyone to pay attention to food safety and hygiene when eating out.
According to the investigation, the restaurant where the customer dined is a beef hotpot restaurant located on Tran Xuan Soan Street, Hai Ba Trung Ward (Hanoi). The restaurant also has another location located on Thi Sach Street.
When Dan Tri reporter contacted the restaurant owner, the representative confirmed that the incident happened at around 8:00 p.m. on December 5.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Thong, the manager of the restaurant, said that two guests (one male and one female) came to the restaurant when the establishment was about to close for business but still accepted the last guests.

Here, 2 customers ordered beef hotpot with vinegar and had a normal meal. Afterwards, the manager heard the staff complain about the customers saying there were maggots in the beef. According to the manager, the meat with maggots that the customers complained about was actually cooked beef brisket, used to serve the beef hotpot with vinegar.
"This is a defect of the cow that looks like a small fatty tumor, and can easily be mistaken for maggots. If it were real maggots, after boiling for a few hours, none would still be alive," Mr. Thong explained.
According to the manager, the meat the restaurant uses for the hot pot beef dish has a lot of beef brisket, which sometimes shows the animal's natural "flaws".
Not long ago, the restaurant encountered a similar case. However, due to early detection, the manager reminded the chef that this case must be eliminated immediately to avoid causing panic among customers.
The manager added that after finishing their meal, the two guests still paid in full and left, without showing any signs of anger or conflict with the restaurant. Therefore, they were surprised to see the guests sharing their unpleasant experience at the restaurant.
The surveillance camera at the dining area was broken at the time, so the restaurant could not capture the images. The manager confirmed that when the guests left, there was almost no leftover food on the table. This person did not know if these were regular customers or not.
“We import meat and use it all up within the day, not keeping it for the next business day. However, the restaurant will take note and make adjustments to ensure food hygiene,” Mr. Thong affirmed.
On December 6, some customers came to the shop but the establishment announced that it would be temporarily closed for 1-2 days due to repairs. It is known that the shop has been in business for the past 16 years.
