In preparation for the annual meeting between the Defense Ministers of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, on May 6-7, the working delegation of Military Region 5 led by Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc - Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Military Region worked with the delegation of Military Region 1, Royal Cambodian Army led by General Huot Chieng - Deputy Commander of the Army, Commander of Military Region 1, Royal Cambodian Army.

During the meeting, the parties discussed and agreed on the tasks to be done in the coming time to organize the annual meeting between the Defense Ministers of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia to ensure solemnity, bringing practical values to further consolidate the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the armies in particular and the three countries in general. On this occasion, the Military Region 5 Command presented 30 gifts (each worth 1.5 million VND) to poor people and families in difficult circumstances in Ngoc Hoi district and presented 5,000 rosewood seedlings to Military Region 1, the Royal Cambodian Army and symbolically planted 5 trees in the Border Crossing area.
