Promoting the Red River Festival in 2025

On November 10, the People's Committee of Lao Cai province held a press conference to provide detailed information on the schedule of activities of the Red River Festival in 2025.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh said that the Red River Festival 2025 with the theme "Where the Red River flows into Vietnam" is expected to be a large-scale cultural and tourism event, creating a strong impression in promoting the cultural identity of the provinces in the Red River basin, honoring the beauty of Lao Cai land and people. At the same time, the Festival contributes to enhancing the tourism attractiveness and position of the Northwest region on the Vietnam tourism map.

The Festival opening ceremony took place at 7:30 p.m. on November 18 at Nam Cuong Square, Cam Duong Ward, Lao Cai Province. The program included art performances and low-altitude fireworks.

At Dinh Le Square, Lao Cai ward will display photos and artifacts about the Red River culture with the theme "Red River Culture - Convergence of Colors"; display publications and documents with the theme "Red River Cultural Journey"; display, introduce, attract investment and promote tourism in Lao Cai province; organize a performance of the national orchestra "The Sounds of the Great Forest"; perform folk cultural rituals; Show of identity and stylized fashion with the theme "Lung Lieng Non Cao".

In addition, within the framework of the Red River Festival 2025, there will be activities recreating the "Old Coc Leu Market" in the Coc Leu market area and An Duong Vuong street, Lao Cai ward; the 25th Vietnam-China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai) at the Kim Thanh International Trade Fair Exhibition Center with more than 700 booths of Vietnam and China; the "Red River Festival" Golf Tournament 2025, opening on the morning of November 22 at Sapa Grand Golf Course, Bat Xat commune, Lao Cai province.

The sports exchange program between businessmen and youths of Lao Cai province, Vietnam and Yunnan province, China took place on November 23 at the Canadian International School Football Field, Cam Duong ward.

The 2025 Honghe, China-Lao Cai, Vietnam International Cycling Race “One Track, Two Countries” takes place from November 28 to 30.

The 2025 Lao Cai Shan Tuyet Tea Festival with the theme "Tea scent in the clouds" from November 21 to 23 promises to attract a large number of people and tourists in Giang B village, Van Chan commune, Lao Cai province.

Organizing the Red River Festival is not only a cultural event but also an important bridge to promote foreign relations, economic, trade, infrastructure investment and cultural cooperation between the two countries; contributing to strengthening the spirit of "good neighbors, good friends, good comrades, good partners" with China, realizing the joint statements between the two countries, contributing to the sustainable development of the region.

At the same time, the event contributes to enhancing the position of Lao Cai in the region, creating a cultural-tourism product with unique characteristics of Lao Cai province; orienting economic-tourism development for Lao Cai province, the Red River basin provinces of Vietnam and China.
