Promote many programs and activities to support local products
With the current development trend of multi-channel sales, determining a data system on consumer tastes and customer segments to build development, business and marketing strategies is one of the key points to improve competitiveness and create advantages for businesses to get closer to consumers.
Owner of Hoa Sen Facility (in Binh Loc Ward) Le Cao Thang shared: The fact that the products meet OCOP standards has helped the facility make many strides in production and business. In recent times, the locality has accompanied and cared for the facility in implementing and participating in programs in the development ecosystem, raising the level of OCOP products. These include trade promotion programs, updating applications on e-commerce, and integration standards.
Most recently, in early December 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade organized a series of training conferences on livestream promotion and consumption of typical rural industrial products of Dong Nai province; training on e-commerce to support OCOP sales through online business...
At these programs, representatives of enterprises, cooperatives, OCOP entities, and units with typical rural industrial products were introduced to the following contents: overview of the OCOP program and opportunities to promote e-commerce; online sales trends; instructions on operating booths, livestream setup techniques; skills in preparing content, images, and communication scripts for effective livestreaming...
Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Tran Duong Hung said: These training conferences not only aim to equip knowledge and skills on livestreaming for production and business entities but also create opportunities for OCOP products and typical rural industrial products of the province to be widely introduced to consumers inside and outside the province.
In particular, the conference also created conditions for OCOP subjects and units with typical rural industrial products to directly livestream sales and experience in practice. This is a concrete step to enhance practical application and effective communication, expanding opportunities for subjects to participate in training.
According to the Vietnam E-commerce Index (EBI) Report 2025 published by the Vietnam E-commerce Association (Vecom), Dong Nai has an E-commerce Index of 13.3 points (higher than the average score of the national EBI Index) and ranks 7th in the country. This is the 9th consecutive year that Dong Nai has maintained its ranking in the top 10 localities leading the country in terms of e-commerce index. In the criteria groups of the EBI Index, Dong Nai ranks 6th in the Business-to-Consumer Transaction Index (B2C) and 7th in the Business-to-Business Transaction Index (B2B).
Bringing local products closer to consumers
In the digital age, when consumer behavior shifts strongly to online platforms, e-commerce becomes one of the fastest growing sectors, playing a pivotal role in the global economy . With the support of information technology and the internet, businesses can conduct transactions, payments, customer care and operational management quickly and effectively. From there, it contributes to changing the face of the economy, creating a new commercial sector - e-commerce.
Thanks to the power of digital information, all traditional commercial activities today have been conducted online, helping participants save costs, time, increase efficiency and improve competitiveness. Not only growing in scale, the market has also witnessed a strong change in shopping behavior. Vietnamese consumers increasingly favor the omnichannel model (multi-channel sales combining online and offline).
Ms. Nguyen Thuy Anh (in Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai province) said: In the past, consumers only surfed social networking sites, e-commerce platforms and then put them in their shopping carts to "close the order", but now they look forward to KOLs programs selling on multiple channels, watching content and experiencing online shopping. Nowadays, shoppers often focus on a seamless experience. All information about products and promotions is updated synchronously and applied on all platforms. This helps increase the multi-channel experience, connecting channels into a closed chain in the ecosystem of modern customers.
In addition, large e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop... develop and innovate rapidly, forcing Vietnamese businesses to adapt faster. The rise of digital payment applications such as VNPay , MoMo, VietQR... makes shopping more convenient and safer than ever.
The implementation of business on digital platforms has contributed to helping many businesses and OCOP entities reduce operating costs, optimize orders, and increase revenue. At the same time, it has built increasingly professional production, business, and marketing processes, applied digital platforms, etc. to bring products closer to consumers.
