Quang Binh attends cave conference in the United States

(QBĐT) - On July 1 (local time), a working delegation of the Provincial People's Committee led by Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended a cave workshop organized by the National Cave Association of the United States in Tennessee (USA). Also attending were representatives of the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park Management Board (PN-KB NP) and a number of businesses.

On behalf of the delegation, the representative of the PN-KB National Park introduced the potential and geological and geomorphological values of PN-KB National Park and the “Kingdom of Quang Binh Caves”; at the same time, expressed the desire for cooperation and coordination in the process of managing, preserving and developing cave tourism between PN-KB National Park and the US National Cave Association.

Within the framework of the cave seminar program in the United States, the delegation of the Provincial People's Committee will attend seminars to discuss plans to protect and preserve caves, thereby contributing to improving the effectiveness of conservation work and developing the value of caves in the locality.

The National Cave Association of the United States was founded in 1941, is a non-profit organization and the largest cave association in the world with more than 8,000 members and more than 250 chapters active in the field of cave survey, research and conservation around the world .

The delegation discussed some issues on cave conservation with US cave experts.

The Cave Conference is held annually by the National Cave Association of the United States to evaluate the results of cave surveys; at the same time, it is an opportunity for cave experts to meet and discuss achievements, research programs, surveys, conservation and development of caves in the world.
