Quang Ngai: need support policies for tourism

To develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, including agricultural and rural tourism, there needs to be appropriate support mechanisms and policies.

On the morning of May 28, the delegation of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province ( Quang Ngai city unit) organized a meeting with voters on the implementation of policies and laws on tourism development in Quang Ngai province.

This is also considered a dialogue between tourism businesses and relevant agencies and units to identify limitations, advantages and disadvantages in order to achieve the goal of increasingly developing tourism, contributing positively to the development of the province, and solving employment for workers.

Notably, at the meeting with voters, Deputy Director of My Khe Agricultural and Community Tourism Cooperative (Tinh Khe Commune, Quang Ngai City) Phan Tran Nguyen Minh Hoa suggested that it is necessary to create a legal corridor, have a specialized resolution, create certain conditions, and not be rigid in developing rural tourism.

“In the coming time, homestays, other types of accommodation in rural areas and community tourism sites will be strongly developed. Therefore, it is necessary to have separate mechanisms decided by the People's Council on piloting the use of agricultural and fishery land, land for growing trees, etc. to build homestays and provide accommodation services for tourists, but without deeply affecting the change of land use purposes,” Mr. Hoa commented.

Regarding this content, Director of the Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province Nguyen Tien Dung said that the most difficult problem at present is still determining the mechanism to serve tourism development.

“Regarding policies, the province cannot issue them by itself, so for the proposal on mechanisms for rural tourism, the department has compiled and sent it to the province for relevant departments to study. Currently, resources for tourism development investment are limited, the tourism management mechanism is unclear, the department also recommends that the province pay attention and support,” said Mr. Dung.

In addition, representatives of business and service establishments also reflected and recommended many contents related to tourism such as investment in infrastructure, transportation, building typical products...

The relevant departments and agencies directly responded to a number of voters' opinions and recommendations at the meeting. The People's Council delegation also received and reflected the voters' legitimate thoughts and aspirations to the competent authorities for consideration, resolution, response and resolution.
