Many encouraging achievements in 2025
According to the Digital Transformation section of the Quang Ngai Provincial Electronic Information Portal, 2025 has seen significant progress for Quang Ngai in the overall technological landscape. The province's Local Innovation Index (PII) in 2025 reached 38.02 points, rising to 20th place out of 34 ranked provinces and cities.
In particular, digital infrastructure – the "lifeblood" of digital transformation – has received significant investment. The 5G network has been widely deployed with 532 BTS stations, increasing coverage from 10% to 90.7% of the population. 5G coverage now extends to 100% of communes, wards, the Ly Son Special Economic Zone, and key economic areas such as the Dung Quat Economic Zone and the VSIP Industrial Park. Simultaneously, public administration has also achieved impressive results, with 100% of provincial-level administrative procedures providing online public services and a citizen satisfaction rate exceeding 95%.
Leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Environment affirmed that the application of digital and high technologies has yielded clear practical results. To date, the area of agricultural production applying high technology throughout the province has reached over 30,000 hectares.
A key highlight is the digitalization of agricultural products. 100% of the province's OCOP products have been tagged with QR codes for traceability, ensuring information transparency and enhancing consumer confidence. This significant shift has helped the province attract 20 investment projects in high-tech agriculture with a total registered capital of over 3.5 trillion VND.
Forest resource management in Quang Ngai is undergoing a major transformation thanks to technology. The agricultural sector has applied GIS systems, remote sensing imagery, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and AI cameras to monitor forest changes, detect deforestation hotspots early, and warn of forest fires. Forest rangers are also equipped with the DSS Agile 8 software system on mobile devices to quickly receive and process information on violations.
Regarding digital resource data, the province has achieved many positive results: 43 out of 96 commune-level administrative units have built cadastral databases; more than 899,000 land parcels have been verified with the Population Database; land data synchronization with the national database according to the two-tier model has been completed; and database systems on minerals, environment, water resources, and automated environmental monitoring are operational.
Regarding the marine economy, the province is implementing the VNFishbase national fisheries database software and the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) to closely manage seafood exploitation activities.
Orientation for 2026: Avoid spreading resources too thinly, focus on specific products.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien instructed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to consider the implementation of Resolution 57-NQ/TW as a central and continuous task. The provincial leader emphasized the need to overcome the situation of scattered and general implementation.
Accordingly, the Agriculture and Environment sector must review and adjust its plans, and develop specific roadmaps for each month and quarter to ensure concrete results are achieved in 2026. Each research project and scientific task needs to clearly define its output and practical and feasible application. The Vice Chairman of the province also noted the need to collaborate with major partners to ensure the widespread application of science and technology, and to urgently build a database to manage the sector's tasks effectively.
