Quang Ngai, through many specific mechanisms and policies, contributes to clearing major bottlenecks.

On the morning of December 9, the 13th People's Council of Quang Ngai province held its 7th session (regular session at the end of 2025) to review and resolve key targets, tasks, and solutions for socio-economic development in 2026 and the 5-year period of 2026-2030; discuss and decide on many other important contents within its authority.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province delivered the opening speech at the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Party Central Committee members: Ho Van Nien, Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee; Duong Van Trang, former Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the People's Council of Kon Tum province (old).

Speaking at the opening of the session, comrade Nguyen Duc Tuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province, emphasized that in the context of many difficulties and challenges, but with the spirit of solidarity and efforts of the entire political system, business community and people in the province, the socio-economic situation of Quang Ngai continues to maintain stability, some areas have positive developments; social security is ensured; national defense, security, social order and safety are maintained.

The total product in the province (GRDP) in 2025 is estimated to reach 92,813 billion VND, an estimated growth of 10.02%; the average increase in the period 2021-2025 is 7.3%/year, ranking 10/34 provinces and cities nationwide.

The work of reorganizing administrative units and implementing the 2-level local government model was carried out urgently and completed on schedule, without leaving any tasks vacant during the transition period. The administrative reform index, governance and public administration efficiency, and provincial competitiveness were improved.

In particular, with the cooperation and support of the Provincial People's Committee in leading and directing socio-economic development, national defense and security, in 2025, the Provincial People's Council was active, proactive and flexible in organizing 16 meetings, reviewing, discussing and voting to pass 159 resolutions within its authority.

“The resolutions that have been passed have been effective, contributing to the successful implementation of the province’s socio-economic development goals and tasks. There are specific mechanisms and policies that have promptly removed difficulties and obstacles, and cleared major bottlenecks for socio-economic development,” affirmed comrade Nguyen Duc Tuy.

After the merger, Quang Ngai province has large development space and diverse development potential.

The head of the People's Council of Quang Ngai province said that after the merger, Quang Ngai has a large development space, with diverse development potential, combining the strengths of marine economy, forest economy, industry, tourism, agriculture, and the advantage of Bo Y international border gate, creating a new growth pole connecting the coast and the Central Highlands.

Despite its great potential and advantages, Quang Ngai faces many difficulties such as: unsustainable economic development; many sectors and fields have not developed commensurate with their potential, especially in the fields of tourism, services, and urban areas; the system of planning, investment, and development plans has not been adjusted or fully connected; climate change is increasingly causing serious adverse impacts, and socio-economic bottlenecks have not been thoroughly resolved.

“In the face of increasingly high demands and requirements, Quang Ngai province has specifically identified goals and tasks for the coming period. Therefore, at this session, the delegates of the Provincial People's Council need to focus on discussing and deeply analyzing the context and characteristics of the socio-economic development situation in the 5 years of 2020-2025, assessing the results and lessons learned, the limitations, difficulties, obstacles that need to be resolved, and the challenges that need to be overcome; finding out the objective and subjective causes and drawing lessons of practical value.

On that basis, consider and decide on general goals, basic and important targets and tasks and solutions for socio-economic development in 2026 and the 5-year period of 2026-2030," Comrade Nguyen Duc Tuy requested.
