
Launched in October 2022, the Contest, organized by the Ministry of Public Security in coordination with the Vietnam Writers' Association, has received widespread response. Over the past 3 years, the Organizing Committee has coordinated to organize 3 writing camps in Quang Ninh, Ba Ria-Vung Tau (now Ho Chi Minh City) and Ninh Binh . As a result, 140 manuscripts in two main genres, novels and memoirs, were submitted, demonstrating the deep concern of writers for the People's Public Security force. The Organizing Committee selected 47 works for the final round and 34 excellent works were awarded.
Through two preliminary and final rounds, the Organizing Committee selected 34 most outstanding works to award prizes in the two categories of Memoirs and Novels. Of which, the memoir category has 1 A prize, 2 B prizes, 5 C prizes, 3 consolation prizes. The novel category has 3 A prizes, 4 B prizes, 7 C prizes, 9 consolation prizes.
Quang Ninh has a writer who was awarded the C prize, writer Bui Nhu Lan, Vietnam Writers Association in Quang Ninh with the novel "Salty Dew". In addition, the Department of Communications of the People's Public Security also awarded 4 awards to honor 4 authors, including writer Nguyen Duy Liem with the novel "Operation of the Poppy". Also in this period, Quang Ninh has 3 writers whose works were in the final round and were published as books by the People's Public Security Publishing House.
