Ha Long Bay still has many pristine islands, beautiful beaches that can be exploited for tourism.

Identifying islands and beaches for the super-luxury group of 1% of the world's population is one of the new tourism products that Quang Ninh province will build to achieve the goal of welcoming 19 million visitors, including 3.5 million international visitors this year.

Quang Ninh province assigned the Ha Long Bay Management Board to find and identify islands and beaches to serve super-rich guests, and the survey will be carried out next week.

Ha Long Bay has about 200 sandy beaches at the foot of the rocky islands, but currently only the beach on Ti Top Island welcomes visitors, leading to overcrowding during peak season.

In March 2023, the Bay Management Board proposed a plan to exploit the Tra San - Cong Do beach cluster. This cluster consists of 8 beaches with areas ranging from 100 m2 to 800 m2, of which 4 beaches can operate all day without being affected by tides. However, this plan has not yet been approved due to regulations and planning issues.

At a meeting on October 10 on solutions to promote, advertise, and boost tourism in the last months of 2024, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, requested to urgently put into operation three beaches: Soi Sim, Hang Co, and Trinh Nu on Ha Long Bay and develop a plan to organize art performances combined with light parties in some qualified caves on the Bay.

In the first 9 months of 2024, Quang Ninh welcomed 15.6 million visitors, an increase of 20% over the same period in 2023, equal to 98% of the 9-month growth target. Total tourism revenue is estimated at 37,000 billion VND, an increase of 39% over the same period in 2023. The number of international visitors reached nearly 2.6 million, mainly from mainland China, South Korea, Taiwan, the US, India, France, Australia, the UK, Germany, and Japan.

In the fourth quarter of this year, Quang Ninh tourism aims to welcome nearly 3.4 million visitors, including 909,000 international visitors.

In addition to the above products, at the end of the year, Quang Ninh province will announce new tourism products and major events and activities, such as the Korea - Vietnam music festival, Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2024, Vietnam - China cross-border race, Binh Lieu cultural tourism week, and organize the first tourist boat to visit and experience Bai Tu Long Bay in October.

Quang Ninh also organizes tourism promotion delegations in industrial parks, large domestic economic groups, foreign enterprises, especially potential southern markets such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Binh Duong, Dong Nai.
