
Overnight, more than 30 divers from the 126th Water Task Force dived into the sea and entered the ship's compartments to search for victims of the Green Bay tourist boat capsized in Ha Long Bay on the afternoon of July 19, when a sudden storm appeared in the area accompanied by heavy rain.
At midnight, the upside-down boat was turned over by rescuers to pump water out of the cabin. Rescuers searched the engine room to see if anyone was trapped when the boat capsized. Early this morning, rescuers discovered four more bodies near the accident site on Ti Top Island and Tuan Chau. However, authorities have not yet confirmed whether the bodies were passengers on the Vinh Xanh 58 boat.
Before the accident, the Green Bay 58 boat was carrying 48 tourists (mostly from Hanoi ) and 5 crew members. Currently, 10 people have been rescued and are recovering in the hospital. Rescuers have found 41 bodies. Rescue and relief efforts are still ongoing.
