Que Ngoc Hai returned to normal training in the evening training session of the Vietnam national team on November 11. This was the first time the central defender was able to practice with his teammates during the November training session.
The Binh Duong FC player suffered a calf injury in a friendly match against the Chinese national team last month. Although he did not play a single minute in the first 3 rounds of the 2023/24 V.League and has not fully recovered, Que Ngoc Hai was still called up to the Vietnam national team by coach Philippe Troussier.
The French coach believes that Que Ngoc Hai can recover in time to participate in the next two matches. During the first days of training, the defender born in 1993 strictly followed the separate treatment regimen and made positive progress.
Que Ngoc Hai returns to training.
The return of Que Ngoc Hai is good news for the Vietnamese team. Coach Troussier cannot use Do Duy Manh in this training session because the Hanoi FC player had an accident close to the training session. Meanwhile, Doan Van Hau continues to be out of action and is unlikely to recover in time to participate in the Asian Cup taking place in January 2024.
The Vietnamese team has one more day of practice in Hanoi before leaving for the Philippines on November 13. Coach Troussier and his team will face the Philippines in the first match of the second qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup in Asia. Five days later, the Vietnamese team will return to My Dinh Stadium to welcome Iraq.
Coach Troussier has just eliminated the first player today (November 11). Truong Tien Anh is the name removed from the list of the Vietnamese team. There will be a number of other faces that will have to say goodbye before the Vietnamese team leaves for the Philippines with 28 players.
