On the afternoon of November 25, the National Assembly began the final working week of the 8th session by reviewing and deciding on a number of important issues and passing many draft laws and resolutions.
Personnel work is one of the issues that the National Assembly will consider during this working week. According to the agenda, at the end of the afternoon session on November 27 and at the beginning of the morning session on November 28, the National Assembly will hold a separate meeting on personnel work.
A series of bills and resolutions are expected to be passed in the final working week of the National Assembly.
Among them, the draft laws considered for voting include: Law on Notarization (amended); Law on Urban and Rural Planning; Law on Value Added Tax (amended); Law on People's Air Defense; Law on Trade Unions (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Health Insurance; Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (amended); Law on Geology and Minerals; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army; Law on Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue; Law on Juvenile Justice; Law on Data; Law on Electricity (amended).
In addition, the National Assembly will also vote to pass the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Securities Law, the Accounting Law, the Independent Audit Law, the State Budget Law, the Law on Management and Use of Public Assets, the Tax Administration Law and the National Reserve Law; the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Planning Law, the Investment Law, the Law on Investment under the Public-Private Partnership Method and the Bidding Law; the Law on Public Investment (amended).
Resolutions passed by the National Assembly in the last working week of the 8th session include: Resolution on investment policy for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis; Resolution of the National Assembly on investment policy for the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025-2035 period; Resolution on investment policy for the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control until 2030; Resolution on piloting the handling of evidence and assets during the investigation, prosecution and trial of a number of criminal cases.
The resolution on establishing Hue city under the Central Government and the resolution on organizing urban government in Hai Phong city were also voted for by National Assembly deputies at this session, along with the National Assembly's resolution on specific mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties and obstacles for projects and land in the inspection, examination and judgment conclusions in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Khanh Hoa; Resolution on piloting the implementation of commercial housing projects through agreements on receiving land use rights or having land use rights.
At the closing session on the afternoon of November 30, the National Assembly voted to pass the Resolution on questions and answers; Resolution of the 8th session (including contents on the policy of additional state capital investment at the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (VCB); adjustment of the National Land Use Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050; adjustment of the investment policy of the Long Thanh International Airport Project; solutions to continue to remove difficulties caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic so that Vietnam Airlines Corporation can soon recover and develop sustainably; on reducing value added tax).
Also this week, the National Assembly discussed in the hall a number of contents that National Assembly deputies had commented on in groups.
Accordingly, the National Assembly will discuss in the hall the draft Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Advertising; the Law on Special Consumption Tax (amended); the Law on Corporate Income Tax (amended); the Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Technical Standards and Regulations; the Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Supervision Activities of the National Assembly and People's Councils; the Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises; the draft Law on Employment (amended); the draft Law on Digital Technology Industry.
Solutions to continue to remove difficulties caused by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic so that Vietnam Airlines Corporation can soon recover and develop sustainably will also be discussed in the hall.
The National Assembly also spent nearly a working day listening to and discussing in the hall the report on crime prevention and control and law violations in 2024; the 2024 work report of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy; the report on the enforcement of judgments and the prevention and control of corruption in 2024; the report on the results of receiving citizens, handling petitions and supervising the settlement of complaints and denunciations sent to the National Assembly in 2024; the report on the work of receiving citizens, handling administrative complaints and denunciations in 2024.
The 8th session of the 15th National Assembly is expected to close on the afternoon of November 30.
