National Highway 1 passing through wards and communes such as Phong Dien, Phu Loc, Phu Bai, Phong Thai, Kim Tra (Hue City)... also appeared damaged after consecutive floods.

Notably, according to records, due to landslides appearing on the North-South expressway section through Hue city during the flood, vehicles were directed onto National Highway 1, causing the traffic density to increase, making the already degraded road even more seriously damaged.

According to some drivers who regularly travel on National Highway 1 through Quang Tri province, the most damaged road is the section north of My Chanh bridge (Nam Hai Lang commune) and the area of Trang bridge, Quang Tri ward (Quang Tri province).

The damaged sections are marked with warning signs or temporarily repaired by the authorities. At the temporary repair points, when it rains, heavy traffic causes further damage.

Faced with the current situation of National Highway 1 being damaged, the People's Committee of Nam Hai Lang Commune and Quang Tri Ward (Quang Tri Province) has reported and requested relevant units to promptly take remedial measures to ensure safety for traffic participants.

Faced with the serious damage to National Highway 1 after historic floods, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh - Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee inspected the situation and directed units to urgently put up warning signs, arrange police forces to regulate vehicle speed, and operate the lighting system from 5:00 p.m. every day to ensure traffic safety at night.
