Decisive direction from the leaders of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee.
The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 28B has a length of approximately 68km, with a total investment of 1,435 billion VND. The starting point of the route intersects with National Highway 1A (Luong Son commune), and the end point intersects with National Highway 20 (Ninh Gia commune).

This is a crucial transportation infrastructure project connecting the South Central Coast region with the Central Highlands, and it has received significant attention from the Ministry of Construction and the People's Committee of Lam Dong province. To expedite its completion and commissioning for socio-economic development, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lam Dong province has personally inspected, directed, and urged the project's progress.
Given the project's significant importance, during a site inspection on October 22, 2025, the Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Muoi, directed Project Management Board 5 - Vietnam Road Administration to take the lead in coordinating with relevant units and the construction contractor to develop a specific construction schedule and timeline, and to strive to complete the National Highway 28B Renovation and Upgrade Project on schedule.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province will cooperate and create the most favorable conditions for units to implement the project, but will also resolutely consider accountability, and even propose replacing the investor if there are delays in progress.

Following the inspection and directives from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Ho Van Muoi, the project's implementation progress has been accelerated by the investor in close coordination with relevant departments, localities, and the construction contractor.
In the final days of 2025, the project's construction progress accelerated with regular inspections and guidance from the leaders of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee. Regarding land clearance, the locality has so far handed over land along the route for 67.65/68km (99.5%). For the remaining 0.35km at the beginning of the route, the locality has completed compensation procedures and is currently in the process of handing over the land.
Thus, the assessment of land clearance work in Lam Dong province is that it meets the construction schedule. Currently, the contractors have paved 58.5 out of 68 km of the entire route with asphalt concrete, making traffic flow easy and fast for people and vehicles.

The people were delighted.
In recent days, the volume of traffic on National Highway 28B has increased compared to normal days, but all residents are delighted because the road is now clearer and safer than before.
Pham Van Hai, a resident of Mui Ne ward who frequently travels on National Highway 28B to Duc Trong for work, happily shared: “Before, the road was under construction and travel was very difficult, especially during the rainy season. But now that it's fully paved, travel is much more convenient and faster because there are no longer steep mountain passes like before, and the road is also wider.”
Not only locals, but many tourists also enjoy traveling on the wide, beautiful road to Lam Dong, the land of a thousand flowers.
"Last month when I traveled to Da Lat, the roads were still difficult to navigate, but today, as my family and I are going to Da Lat to celebrate Tet, the roads have been newly paved and are very beautiful, making travel much faster," shared Ms. Le Thi Yen Phung from Vinh Long province.
New impetus for economic development
After renovation and upgrading work, the sharp curves and steep mountain pass sections have been widened, replaced with viaducts, and the elevation has been lowered, ensuring much safer traffic for the people compared to before.
The gradually completed road, serving the needs of transporting goods and facilitating travel for the people during the Lunar New Year of the Horse, has created a sense of excitement among the local people. The smooth operation of National Highway 28B is something that Ms. Pham Thu Hoai, as well as many other residents of Ta Hine commune, have been eagerly awaiting.
Ms. Hoai said: “I run a business selling vegetables and fruits, so I travel and transport goods on this road every day. Before, it was very difficult; many shipments were delayed due to weather conditions, especially during the recent rainy season. Now, the road is clear, the curves have been widened, and there are overpasses, so transportation is very easy. The goods arrive in the former Binh Thuan area still fresh and green, which makes everyone happy. I think the area on both sides of this road will develop even more in the future.”
