On the afternoon of November 12, King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan arrived in Hanoi , beginning an official visit to Vietnam from November 12-13, 2025, at the invitation of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong.
Welcoming the delegation at Noi Bai International Airport were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Office of the President Le Khanh Hai; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang; Vietnamese Ambassador to the UAE and concurrently Jordan Nguyen Thanh Diep; Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs (Office of the President) Nguyen Vu Ha Le; Director of the Department of Middle East-Africa (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Nguyen Phuong Tra; Deputy Director of the Department of State Protocol and Foreign Interpretation (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) Phan Kieu Nga.
Accompanying the King of Jordan were: Prince Ghazi bin Mohammad, Chief Royal Advisor on Religion and Culture; Mr. Ayman Hussein Abdullah Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates; Mr. Alaa Arif Saad Batayneh, Chief of the King's Office; Mr. Yarub Falah Mefleh Qudah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply; Mr. Mo'ath Abdel Rahman S. Alzo'bi, Director of the Royal Political Department (equivalent to a Minister); Mr. Yazan AM Abu-hantash, Director of the Investment and Business Department (equivalent to a Minister); Dr. Sa'ed Radaideh, Ambassador-designate of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Vietnam.
According to Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Diep, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and concurrently in Jordan, the visit of King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan to Vietnam is of great significance, taking place in the context of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (August 9, 1980 - August 9, 2025).
This is the first visit by the Head of the Kingdom of Jordan to Vietnam and the first exchange of delegations at the Head of State/Government level between the two countries since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
This is also the first visit by a Middle Eastern head of state to Vietnam in 9 years. The visit marks a historic milestone in the relationship between the two countries, opening a new phase of cooperation, creating a premise for promoting cooperation in areas of mutual interest./.
Mr. Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein was born on January 30, 1962; studied at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK (1980); studied at Pembroke College, Oxford University, UK (1982); studied at Georgetown University, USA (from 1987-1989).
During his career and positions, from 1981 to 1933, he served in the Royal Jordanian Army.
From 1993 to 1994, he was Deputy Commander of the Jordanian Special Forces. From 1994 to 1999, he was Commander of the Jordanian Special Forces.
From 1999 to present, he is the King of Jordan./.
