Mr. Nguyen Van Chung's family in Quyet Thang village currently raises about 4,000 chickens per batch. With the method of raising chickens under cinnamon trees, the meat is firm and delicious; the selling price is stable at 70,000 VND/kg, sometimes reaching 90,000 - 100,000 VND/kg.

Mr. Chung shared: Quy Mong chicken has a brand name, so the family always follows VietGAP procedures from breeding, feeding to vaccination to maintain quality.

Viet Hai Dang Cooperative has a vermicelli product that has been recognized as a 3-star OCOP and has made its own mark. The transparent production process, made entirely from galangal flour, helps the product retain its traditional flavor while ensuring food safety.

Ms. Phung Thi Tuyen, Director of the Cooperative, said: Every year, the unit consumes about 6 tons of vermicelli, with a revenue of 400 million VND. The products are not only consumed in the province but also expanded to the markets of Hanoi , Quang Ninh, Hai Phong and even exported to the UK - a clear demonstration of quality and reputation.

In addition to livestock farming and processing, Quy Mong commune also develops safe vegetables with 3 types of vegetables recognized as 3-star OCOP products. Since applying the greenhouse model, productivity and value have increased, off-season production is possible, reducing 70% of pesticides and 50% of chemical fertilizers. The average income of each vegetable growing household is 150 - 400 million VND/year.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Men - Director of Minh Tien Safe Vegetable Cooperative shared: Vegetables grown in greenhouses are green, uniform, have few pests and diseases, and are sold as soon as they are produced. People are confident in their commitment because they see clear economic efficiency.

Currently, Quy Mong commune has nearly 5,800 hectares of cinnamon, 2,300 hectares of Bat Do bamboo shoots, nearly 300 hectares of mulberry and more than 70 hectares of galangal. This is an abundant source of raw materials for developing safe and quality agricultural products. Many production models have applied VietGAP and organic processes and have been granted geographical indication certificates. Up to now, the commune has 11 OCOP products with 3 to 4 stars, typically cinnamon, Bat Do bamboo shoots, hill chicken, knife vermicelli, safe vegetables, etc.

To achieve this result, Quy Mong commune has focused on implementing many synchronous solutions, in which planning concentrated production areas associated with each key product is considered an important step, helping to form a stable source of raw materials for processing and consumption. The commune government also encourages the establishment of cooperatives and cooperative groups to gather people to produce together, connect with businesses to form a sustainable chain, and reduce fragmentation and small-scale production.

Along with that, the locality focuses on applying technical advances, bringing the greenhouse model, drip irrigation, and VietGAP livestock farming process into production. Trade promotion and product promotion activities are regularly implemented through participating in OCOP fairs and exhibitions inside and outside the province, while promoting consumption channels through e-commerce. In addition to capital support and human resource training, the locality also focuses on building brands, labels, traceability, and creating trust for consumers.

Comrade Pham Van Hoan - Chairman of Quy Mong Commune People's Committee said: The commune identifies OCOP product development as not only a way to increase the value of agricultural products but also a sustainable way to increase people's income. We aim to build the Quy Mong agricultural product brand with a solid position in the domestic market and gradually expand to export. To do this, we must reorganize production, link stages in the value chain and strongly apply science and technology .

In the coming time, Quy Mong commune will focus on applying science and technology, building value chains for key products such as Bat Do bamboo shoots, mulberry, cinnamon, and poultry. The commune aims not only to standardize products, expand the domestic market, but also to export. Along with that, the locality will focus on training human resources, opening more product introduction points, contributing to improving economic value and people's lives.

The OCOP program has become an important driving force to help Quy Mong commune effectively exploit natural advantages and build local product brands. The models of livestock, cultivation, and agricultural processing not only bring stable income to the people but also contribute to bringing Quy Mong agricultural products to a wider market.

With the right direction and consensus of the government, cooperatives, businesses and people, we believe that OCOP products of Quy Mong commune will continue to be upgraded, become strong brands, contributing to the construction of modern and sustainable agriculture.
