Determined to successfully implement three breakthroughs associated with digital transformation of journalism

On the morning of November 14, the Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television Trade Union held an expanded Executive Committee Conference to evaluate the results of activities in the past time and deploy directions and tasks in the coming time. Attending and directing the Conference were comrades: Trieu Tai Phong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; Tran Viet Tuyen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television.

The Tuyen Quang Newspaper, Radio and Television Grassroots Trade Union was established under Decision No. 16/QD-LĐLĐ, dated July 31, 2025 of the Provincial Federation of Labor, including 9 affiliated trade union groups with 280 union members. At the Conference, delegates focused on comprehensively evaluating the results of the grassroots trade union's activities since its establishment, and agreed on the directions and tasks for the coming period.

Over the past time, the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union has always been united and unified in its direction, closely following the political tasks of the unit. After the merger, the staff and workers have been steadfast in ideology, responsibility, proactive and creative in performing professional tasks. The Trade Union regularly grasps the thoughts and aspirations of union members; coordinates with the Party Committee and the Editorial Board to supervise the arrangement and assignment of work, policies and regimes; promptly answers questions related to job positions, title standards, and policies and regimes for union members. The work of caring for union members' lives has received attention, especially during the recent natural disasters and floods.

However, because union members are operating in 9 union groups and working in 3 different locations (2 headquarters in Tuyen Quang, 1 in the old Ha Giang ), organizing common activities is still difficult, requiring flexibility in the operation methods of the union organization.

At the Conference, delegates discussed and voted to approve the Conference Resolution, which identified three breakthroughs that need to be focused on in the new term, including: Improving the adaptability and digital skills of union members in the context of digital transformation of journalism; Innovating union operation methods, building a digital agency culture; Improving the effectiveness of protecting the rights of journalists. The grassroots union also proposed 5 groups of indicators under direct responsibility and 8 groups of indicators for coordinated implementation, in order to ensure the successful completion of the unit's political and professional tasks.

Speaking at the Conference, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Trieu Tai Phong highly appreciated the efforts of the grassroots trade union in the newly established conditions, shared the difficulties when the working location changed after the merger and union members were affected by natural disasters. He suggested that the grassroots trade union continue to take advantage of the leadership of the Party Committee and the Editorial Board, proactively propose practical solutions; improve the efficiency of operations, develop the trade union organization; do a good job of protecting the rights and taking care of the lives of union members; visit and provide timely support to create consensus and solidarity among the labor collective.

Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Party Secretary and Deputy Editor-in-Chief Tran Viet Tuyen praised the efforts of the Trade Union Executive Committee to proactively and creatively organize activities. He requested the grassroots trade union to closely coordinate with the Editorial Board in monitoring job positions, policies, especially salaries, royalties, and social insurance. The Trade Union needs to mobilize 100% of union members to study and improve their professional qualifications and skills in digital transformation; build solidarity and agency culture; innovate cultural and sports activities to enhance exchanges between departments, offices and workplaces; pay attention to training outstanding union members to introduce them to the Party.

At the Conference, the decision of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor was announced on the appointment of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Newspaper, Radio and Television Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 9 comrades; the Inspection Committee consisting of 3 comrades; and the appointment of delegates to attend the 1st Congress of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Trade Union, term 2025-2030. Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Provincial Newspaper, Radio and Television, was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union.
