The announcement stated that, in preparation for the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, celebrating the country's entry into a new era, and commemorating the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and in order to organize trade promotion activities, stimulate domestic consumption, promote the "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" campaign, and to promote Vietnamese products, goods, and culture to international friends, organizing the 2026 National Spring Fair is extremely necessary and of great importance. The fair will be held from February 2nd to 8th, 2026.
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to take the lead and coordinate with relevant ministries, agencies, and localities to review and compile a plan for organizing the Spring Fair 2026.
The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade to chair and coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , the People's Committee of Hanoi, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, relevant ministries, agencies, localities, and the Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Center Joint Stock Company to review and synthesize the plan for organizing the Spring Fair 2026, paying attention to the following contents:
Proposed name for the Fair should be consistent with its purpose, meaning, and the established practices of organizing fairs (researching the name: National Spring Fair 2026).
The overall site plan and zoning design are scientifically sound, aesthetically pleasing, and convenient for visitors and businesses.
Clearly define the content and overall expenditure estimates; propose principles, criteria, support levels, and specific funding estimates from the state budget to organize the Fair in a cost-effective and efficient manner, absolutely preventing corruption, waste, and negative practices. Based on this, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will finalize the Project Proposal and report it to the Prime Minister.
Regarding contractor selection, ministries, agencies, and localities shall comply with legal regulations, ensuring progress, quality, transparency, and preventing any corruption.
News agencies and media outlets are stepping up their efforts to publicize and introduce the Fair through various forms and methods in the mass media to widely disseminate information and images of the Fair to the people.
