Real Madrid 1-1 Valencia: Vinicius makes amends

Vinicius missed a chance from 11 meters away, then scored the equalizer for Real Madrid in round 30 of La Liga.

The drama was heightened right after the opening whistle. In the 10th minute, Kylian Mbappe earned a penalty, after a controversial decision by the referee. Vinicius was given the responsibility but could not beat goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili from 11m.

Just 2 minutes after the home team's missed opportunity, Valencia took the lead from a set piece. After Andre Almeida's cross, Mouctar Diakhaby jumped high and headed the ball close to the goal, giving Thibaut Courtois no chance to block.

The remarkable developments did not stop there. In the 21st minute, Diakhaby was not under pressure but swung his leg straight into his own net, much to the surprise of his teammates. Luckily for Valencia, the goal was disallowed because Mbappe was offside when he had already joined the attack.

In the 42nd minute, Bellingham beat the away team's goalkeeper, but the ball went just wide of the post.

Real Madrid continue to maintain their impressive form at home at the Santiago Bernabeu, where they are unbeaten in their last eight La Liga matches (7 wins, 1 draw). With their stability and high form, Real Madrid are fully confident in continuing to compete for the La Liga title.

Meanwhile, Valencia, although gradually escaping the danger of relegation, still have a lot of difficulties in matches against strong teams. "Los Che" have won only one of their last eight La Liga matches (4 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss) and they have not won away in this tournament since April 2024.
