In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), at some large flower and ornamental plant stalls and along the central streets of Thanh Sen and Tran Phu wards in Ha Tinh province, dozens of uniquely shaped peach blossom trees and large apricot blossom trees are brought in by traders for sale.

On display here are many peach trees covered in green moss, which highlights the color of the peach blossoms.

According to vendors, the biggest difference of this moss-covered peach variety lies in its appearance and aesthetic value. Instead of smooth bark, the peaches have a gnarled shape, a rough, woody surface, many natural mosses, and are covered with a thick layer of green moss.

According to reports, each moss-covered peach tree in Ha Tinh costs between 5 and 25 million VND. Trees with beautiful shapes, unique forms, and abundant natural moss can fetch over 30 million VND. Despite the high prices, many beautiful peach trees have already been reserved by discerning collectors.

According to vendors, the market for Tet flowers and ornamental plants this year is quieter than in previous years. However, for the moss-covered peach blossom segment, customers are mainly discerning collectors who buy for enjoyment, so they are still willing to spend money on high-value plants.

Besides peach blossoms, apricot blossom trees that are decades old are also attracting much attention and are sought after by many people to decorate their homes for Tet. In the photo: Large apricot blossom trees are displayed for sale on the largest flower street in Ha Tinh.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Loan (Can Loc commune, Ha Tinh province), bringing these apricot blossom trees to the largest flower market in Ha Tinh required a great deal of effort from the gardeners in transporting them.

Ms. Loan said that the three apricot blossom trees brought to the flower market this time are all cherished creations of the gardeners, with the most outstanding being an apricot blossom tree with an age of about 80 years. "Currently, there are customers knowledgeable about ornamental plants who have made offers for this apricot blossom tree, but I am still considering it," Ms. Loan shared.
