(NLDO) - The American company 1X Home Robots said it has created a humanoid robot that can do all the housework for $20,000.

1X Home Robots (USA) company attracted attention when it announced NEO - the first humanoid robot capable of doing everything in the house, from folding clothes, vacuuming, making coffee to watering plants and using the dishwasher.

With just a voice command or a tap on the phone, NEO instantly becomes an omnipotent "maid".

NEO has a human-like appearance, is 1.67 m tall, weighs 30 kg, wears a jumpsuit, can work continuously for 4 hours, lift objects weighing up to 70 kg and move objects weighing 25 kg.

Using artificial intelligence (AI), the robot can learn the homeowner's habits and preferences, even suggesting dishes or reminding people of birthdays. NEO also has built-in wifi, bluetooth and a three-tier speaker system, making it a mobile entertainment center in the home.

In particular, this robot has an "expert mode", allowing the company's technicians to remotely control it to handle complex tasks. Although it helps the robot work more effectively, this feature makes many people concerned about privacy, as the company can observe the house and listen to surrounding sounds through the built-in camera and microphone.

However, 1X Technologies representative Bernt Bornich affirmed that this is necessary. "Without data from users, we cannot improve the product," he said.

The robot also has LED lights in its ears to signal when it is being remotely monitored, letting the user know the robot is being manually intervened.

NEO will be introduced to American families from 2026, expanding to other markets in 2027. The expected selling price of this robot is 20,000 USD (more than 500 million VND) or rented at 499 USD/month.
