
From the evening of February 16th, the Kim Dong pedestrian street area (Thuc Phan ward) attracted thousands of locals and tourists to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The street was brightly decorated with flags, flowers, and lights, creating a striking highlight. Authorities were also deployed in key areas early to ensure security, order, and traffic safety, creating the best conditions for people to celebrate Tet in a joyful and civilized atmosphere.

According to reporters, the series of art programs "Celebrating the Party - Celebrating the Spring Festival of the Year of the Horse 2026" took place continuously with spectacular singing, dancing, and musical performances; folk dances, bamboo pole dancing; and traditional games such as tug-of-war, O An Quan (a traditional board game), and sack racing… attracting a large number of participants. The photo exhibition area, mobile library, and experiential booths also added to the rich cultural space serving the people.


At exactly 00:00 on February 17, 2026 (the first day of the Lunar New Year, Year of the Horse 2026), in the central pedestrian area and other designated safe locations, people gathered to admire the fireworks display welcoming the new year. The dazzling, constantly changing fireworks created a mesmerizing spectacle, attracting cheers and photos from onlookers, becoming the most memorable moment of New Year's Eve, bringing a feeling of excitement and hope for a peaceful and prosperous new year.

Immediately after midnight, crowds of people moved from the pedestrian area to temples and pagodas around the city center, such as Ngoc Thanh Temple (Tan Giang Ward) and Pho Cu Pagoda (Thuc Phan Ward), to offer incense, pray to Buddha, and ask for peace and good fortune in the new year. Amidst the swirling incense smoke, many families and homeowners sincerely prayed, expressing their wishes for health, peace, and happiness on the first day of the new year.

The Lunar New Year's Eve of the Year of the Horse 2026 concluded in joy and warmth, reflecting the increasingly rich cultural and spiritual life of the people of Cao Bang , as well as their preservation of traditional customs during the Tet holiday and the arrival of spring.
