“Ronaldo’s strike? When we were at Al Hilal, we did benefit,” said coach Jesus. “They had stronger financial resources. That’s normal. Al Nassr, on the other hand, had other resources and had to compete for the top spot.”
At Al Hilal, coach Jesus led the team to victory in the 2023/24 SPL, the King Cup, and the Saudi Arabian Super Cup. This strategist joined Al Nassr last summer, making way for coach Simone Inzaghi to arrive at Al Hilal.
The financial disparity between Al Nassr and Al Hilal reportedly angered Ronaldo, causing him to miss training sessions and several official matches for Al Nassr.

During the winter transfer window, Al Hilal continued to receive significant financial injections with notable signings, including the "blockbuster" Karim Benzema. Meanwhile, Al Nassr also planned to bring in six new players but failed to do so. This reality disappointed Ronaldo, especially as he was striving to help Al Nassr compete for the championship.
On February 15th, Ronaldo returned and scored a goal in Al Nassr's 2-0 victory over Al Fateh. After scoring, Ronaldo walked to the corner flag and performed his familiar "Siu" celebration, pointing to himself and then down at the pitch as a message reaffirming his commitment to the club.
In the standings, Al Nassr is second in the Saudi Pro League, one point behind Al Hilal.
