The hillsides are covered with the bright pink color of cherry blossoms, interspersed with green tea fields and a few houses looming behind the mountain. The pink and green colors blend together, making the scene softer and more poetic. |

Cherry blossoms in this area are different from Japanese cherry blossoms ( sakura ). The trees are tall, straight, and have dark pink flowers, usually with only 5 petals. This variety of tree originates from China and is suitable for the Sa Pa climate, so it is widely planted, creating “pink forests” at the end of the year. |

Duong Quoc Hieu, a tour guide and photographer for tourists, said that the flowers start blooming from now until the end of the year, lasting more than 20 days. The time to attract tourists is from next week to the end of the month. “The tea hill is under project planning so it is temporarily closed to tourists. People can go to nearby places, such as the entrance to Khoang village, a few hundred meters from the tea hill, to visit and see the flowers,” Hieu said. |
