Salah cut short his vacation after hearing about Jota's death

Mohamed Salah decided to cut short his summer vacation to return to England earlier than expected, after hearing the news of his close teammate Diogo Jota's death.

According to Daily Mail , Salah will return to England today (July 4), even though Liverpool has not yet entered pre-season training.

The Egyptian player shared many relaxing pictures in Bodrum (Türkiye), Mombasa (Kenya) and Mykonos (Greece). However, facing such a great loss, Salah decided to return to the team early to pay tribute to his late teammate.

The former AS Roma star played 150 times with Jota. The two have a close relationship on and off the pitch.

Salah returned to Liverpool earlier than expected.

The football world was shocked when Jota and his brother Andre Silva died in a tragic accident on the A-52 near Zamora, Spain, just ten miles from the Portuguese border.

Jota and his brother were travelling to Santander to catch a ferry to England, having recently undergone lung surgery and being advised not to travel by air. The fateful journey came less than two weeks after Jota married his childhood sweetheart Rute in Porto on 22 June.

Jota's sudden passing has left Liverpool in mourning. Among those expressing their grief and gratitude are teammates such as Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and especially former coach Jurgen Klopp.

On his personal page, Klopp wrote emotionally: "Jota was not only a great player but also a beloved friend, husband and father. I can't believe he's gone. We will miss him very much."
