Samsung is said to be preparing a major upgrade to wireless charging technology on the Galaxy S26 series, with the integration of full Qi2 support instead of just stopping at “Qi2 Ready” as on current flagship models. This is considered a big step forward to help optimize wireless charging speed, increase alignment capabilities and bring a more synchronized experience in the company's device ecosystem.
According to recent reports, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 series with a new wireless charger developed by the company. This charger has the code EP-P2900, supports a maximum capacity of 25W and is designed in a round shape with a dark gray color tone. Notably, the charger uses a magnetic structure to automatically align the device according to the Qi 2.2 standard, thereby achieving the highest charging efficiency. The product is said to be compatible with many devices in the Samsung ecosystem, including Galaxy S, Galaxy Z and Galaxy Buds.

Currently, Samsung phones only max out at 15W via Qi2, but the Galaxy S26 series is expected to bump this up significantly. However, charging speeds may vary between models. Leaks suggest the Galaxy S26 Ultra could support up to 25W wireless charging, while the Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 could stop at 20W. For wired charging, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to top out at 60W, the S26+ at around 45W, and the S26 at 25W. Samsung is also said to be working on the Super Fast Charging 3.0 standard for future generations.
Another important change is that the Galaxy S26 series is expected to integrate Qi2 magnets directly into the body. This ends the partial “Qi2 Ready” support phase, and also helps the device align more precisely when placed on the magnetic charger, thereby achieving the maximum speed of 25W required by the Qi 2.2 standard. Samsung’s current Qi2 chargers only support 15W, so the appearance of the new generation is seen as suitable for the improvements coming to the S26 series.
Samsung has confirmed that the Exynos 2600 will power the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 trio is expected to debut at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco on February 25, 2026. As the announcement approaches, more details about the wireless and wired charging technology will likely continue to surface, although Samsung has yet to provide any official information.
With the full Qi2 upgrade on the way, and the launch of a new 25W magnetic charger, the Galaxy S26 series is expected to set a new standard for the wireless charging experience on Samsung's premium smartphones.
