Last September, Samsung's mobile chief TM Roh revealed in an interview with The Chosun Daily that the company will launch its first triple-folding screen phone this year.
Now, this statement has come true as Samsung has just launched the Galaxy Z TriFold phone.

While the Huawei Mate XT, the world's first tri-fold smartphone, uses a Z-shaped folding mechanism, Samsung's Galaxy Z TriFold opts for a book-like folding form, with three screen sections overlapping when closed.
The back of the Galaxy Z TriFold is a standalone screen, allowing users to use the device as a bar phone when the entire main screen is folded inwards.
When fully opened, the Galaxy Z TriFold measures 10 inches, equivalent to a large tablet, with a resolution of 2160x1584 and a refresh rate that varies from 1 to 120Hz. The external secondary screen measures 6.5 inches, Full HD resolution with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
When unfolded, the Galaxy Z TriFold is a maximum of 4.2mm thin. When folded, it is 12.9mm thick, 4.7mm thicker than the Galaxy S25 Ultra and 4mm thicker than the Galaxy Z Fold7. However, this size is still compact enough for users to put in their pockets.

The Galaxy Z TriFold's back panel is made of ceramic fiberglass-reinforced polymer, which Samsung says is crack-resistant. It's IP48 rated, meaning it's completely waterproof but not completely dustproof.
In terms of configuration, the Galaxy Z TriFold uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for Galaxy, optimized by Qualcomm for Samsung products, comes with 16GB RAM, 512GB or 1TB storage options.

The product is equipped with a cluster of 3 cameras, including a 200 megapixel main camera, a 12 megapixel super wide-angle camera and a 10 megapixel telephoto camera, supporting 3x optical zoom. Both the inner screen and the screen on the back of the product are equipped with a 10 megapixel selfie camera.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is equipped with a 5,600mAh battery, equivalent to the Huawei Mate XT, but only supports 45W fast charging, while the product from China supports 66W fast charging.

The product is expected to be sold first in the Korean market on December 12, the price has not been revealed. It is likely that Samsung will soon bring its tri-fold screen phone to the international market in the near future.
