The work "Tomorrow the sky will be bright again", a script written in 1957, once caused a big stir and has just been re-produced by People's Artist and director Tran Luc on the LucTeam stage.

"Tomorrow the sky will shine again" is a famous play by author Dinh Xuan Hoa. The play was first performed in 1959 and immediately received high praise for its content and form.

The play was later performed at events such as the Popular Music Week in 1960 at Thanh Binh Theater, with the participation of famous actors at that time such as Kieu Hanh, Minh Trang, Bich Huyen, Dinh Xuan Hoa, Anh Tuan, Anh Viet...

The work created much excitement and novelty at that time, and was recognized by critics for "solving important issues constructively" and "profoundly expressing the material and emotional lives of the characters in a typical way".

The story of "Tomorrow Will Be Bright Again" revolves around the dramatic marriage of a young couple - Loc, the intellectual husband and Van, the strong, hedonistic wife.

They loved each other deeply but were complete opposites in their outlook on life and how they lived it. Personal corruption and social pressure turned their passionate beginnings into sin and brokenness.

When the conflict reached its peak, Loc fell into a mental crisis. The climax scene when he overturned each plank of the wooden platform - turning the stage into rubble - was the moment that represented the ultimate collapse not only of a family, but also of the entire human spiritual world .

The first attraction comes from Dinh Xuan Hoa's script. He writes with a very tight structure. The story is gradually opened through the lawyer's narration to his daughter, creating surprise, drama, and attracting viewers through each fast and urgent development.

The non-linear structure of the script, with the present (the daughter learning about the family tragedy through the lawyer's narration) and the past taking place in parallel, is a very modern structural element, far surpassing the popular "three-only" style of playwriting at the same time.

The decision of People's Artist Tran Luc to stage the play "Tomorrow the sky will shine again" comes from his strong belief in the intrinsic value and eternal timeliness of the script. According to him, this script is not outdated, but on the contrary, it is still very modern because it touches on universal human issues, which are love, marriage, differences in life perspectives and the tragedy of families swept away by a money-driven society.

In the new version, Tran Luc made a bold experiment by bringing the symbolic - expressive style (which is the forte of LucTeam stage) into a script full of psychological realism. The artist shared that he "intentionally restrained the symbolic technique" to focus all his energy on creating a platform for the acting to freely show off.

Bringing "Tomorrow the sky will shine again" back to the stage in Hanoi - the hometown of author Dinh Xuan Hoa - after more than 60 years also has a special meaning. With this production, People's Artist Tran Luc not only revived a classic work, but also challenged himself in reconciling realism and convention, heritage and innovation. The play is therefore not only a tribute to the past but also a way of affirming that, on today's stage, "tomorrow the sky can still shine again".

Despite its highly experimental nature, “Tomorrow the Sky Will Shine Again” possesses the core elements to win over the mass audience. People’s Artist Tran Luc and LucTeam have skillfully turned philosophical issues into an engaging story.

The play "Tomorrow the sky will be bright again" will premiere on November 21 within the framework of the 2025 International Experimental Theatre Festival, in Ninh Binh province.
