In the days leading up to the 2026 Lunar New Year, the volume of mail accepted through the Vietnam Post system recorded a growth of 25-30% compared to normal days in the last months of the year and an increase of about 10-15% compared to the same period last year. On peak days, the total volume of mail across the network reached nearly 1,000,000 mail items/day. This growth reflects the vibrant consumer demand and shopping during the Tet holiday.
To ensure smooth goods delivery, Vietnam Post has implemented operational plans across its entire network, organized 24/7 monitoring, and strictly controlled the flow of goods at the sorting, distribution, and transportation stages to promptly coordinate and handle any issues that arise.

Following the principle of delivering all goods within a shift or day, the units have proactively arranged and reinforced delivery personnel and postal workers appropriately for each delivery route, organizing deliveries outside of regular working hours, especially in areas with a high volume of postal items, to ensure that goods are delivered accurately and safely to recipients as quickly as possible.
Regarding postal delivery, parcels arriving at the post office before February 15th (28th day of the 12th lunar month) will be delivered by Vietnam Post to recipients before the Lunar New Year, no later than 12 noon on February 16th (29th day of the 12th lunar month).
According to the plan, central post offices will remain open to serve citizens and businesses until February 15th (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month) and will reopen on February 19th, 2026 (the 3rd day of Tet).
Based on the actual volume of mail received, the units will proactively adjust their opening and closing times to ensure maximum service to meet customer needs.
Other post offices will arrange the number of transaction staff based on the actual situation in order to optimize the efficiency of customer service.
For international postal services, air and sea mail routes will be temporarily suspended from February 14th to February 22nd, according to the Customs agency's work schedule. Therefore, international mail during this period may be delayed compared to the published transit time standards.
