Hunting clouds, watching the maple forest change leaves on top of Ngu Chi Son

VnExpressVnExpress06/11/2023

At an altitude of 2,400 m, where locals call it "wind-catching waist", visitors can clearly feel the significant change in temperature with thick and heavy fog.

The trees in this area have a rough bark to adapt to the year-round frosty climate. Here, visitors can see perennial trees such as Vang Tam, Doi, Nghien, Cho Chi, many herbs and precious medicinal herbs such as Panax notoginseng, Dang Quy and especially Hoang Lien - the tree associated with the name of the majestic mountain range.

This altitude is also an ideal condition for the growth of species belonging to the clinging system such as moss, orchids, mushrooms, and lingzhi. At the top, one can only see algae, moss, Sa Pa's claw trees, and some other small plants.
