This morning, December 9, the 6th session of the 10th term of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, 2021-2026 term (the last session of the year) officially opened. The session is expected to take place over 2 days: December 9 and 10.
On the first working day, the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City assessed the results of implementing the 2025 theme "Focusing on streamlining the apparatus to be streamlined - strong - efficient - effective - efficient; promoting digital transformation; Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly ; fundamentally resolving the city's difficulties and backlogs"; assessing the results of practicing thrift and fighting waste; and the results of administrative reform in 2025.
Delegates will also review and comment on the financial plan for the 2026-2030 period; the socio -economic situation for the 2021-2025 period, directions, tasks, and solutions for the 2026-2030 period; and socio-economic tasks for 2026.
Ho Chi Minh City People's Court reports on trial work in 2025 and directions and tasks in 2026; Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy reports on prosecution work results in 2025 and directions and tasks in 2026.
Review and approve reports of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on mechanisms, policies, public investment and urgent issues under its authority.
On the second working day, delegates will question the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety on the management and handling of food safety violations. At the same time, they will question the Director of the Department of Construction on the situation and results of implementing key public investment projects; solutions to combat traffic congestion; the implementation of the social housing development program and the coordination of granting home ownership certificates in apartment buildings in the city.
It is expected that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council will organize a ceremony to commend and award the "For the cause of building and developing Ho Chi Minh City" Medal to the delegates of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.
