Young people spread traditional culture
Opening with the melodious sound of the moon lute, Karik's performance Van ly doc hanh in the final night 1 of the reality music show Anh trai say hi received the attention of the audience last week. The performance not only impressed the audience with its grand stage, varied choreography, and graceful stick dance, but also with the perfect blend of pentatonic scales, reformed opera, contemporary folk music, and rap.
Previously, in September 2025, singer Duc Phuc with his performance of Phu Dong Thien Vuong won the championship of the Intervision 2025 International Music Competition. The performance fully expressed the cultural identity of Vietnam, conquering the international music arena, opening up opportunities to widely promote the traditional artistic values of the nation to international friends.
It can be said that the creativity and innovation of young artists not only bring new experiences to the public but also open up directions for new cultural products. In particular, the preservation factor has gone hand in hand with development when traditional cultural values are combined with modern music to continue to spread in life.
Recently, the appearance of cultural products that have left an impression on young people is always associated with not only music but also in fine arts - design, cinema, media - digital content, performing arts...
According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Nguyet, combining folk and modern sounds is a natural process, both preserving and creating, in accordance with the laws of cultural development. There have been many music products that combine modern elements with folk sounds successfully when creating attraction on social networks. This reflects the adaptability of traditional culture, the need to affirm the identity of the young generation and the dynamism, creativity, and international integration ability of cultural industrial products.
Growing up in a multicultural and technological environment, young people easily absorb new trends and flexibly combine tradition and modernity. Therefore, young people are also the subjects entrusted with the responsibility of preserving and promoting national cultural values.
TikToker - author of the book Folk Legends Pham Thi Thuy Tien shared: In the digital environment, there are many talented young people, they are creative and dare to express their identity, helping cultural products have their own color, richness and uniqueness. Besides, young people have the ability to connect strongly with the community and spread products quickly through social networks. By creating cultural products rich in messages, humane and reflecting the contemporary breath, young people play an important role in the sustainable development of Vietnamese culture in the digital age.
Creating space for innovation and cultural creativity
After the merger, Dong Nai became a locality with a large and culturally diverse youth population. The young population is a dynamic force, easily accessible to technology and actively participates in cultural, entertainment, start-up and social networking activities. Dong Nai is also a multicultural land with ethnic minority communities living in many localities, creating a rich environment in terms of language, customs, festivals, cuisine and music. In this context, young people both accept traditional cultural values and easily combine modern elements, thereby forming creative and unique cultural products with their own identity and contributing to enriching the local cultural life.
Recently, the Provincial People's Committee issued an official dispatch on the implementation of the Project on Youth Participation in Preserving and Promoting Vietnamese National Cultural Identity for the period 2025-2030 in the province. The project was developed and implemented by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) to promote the pioneering role of youth in participating in preserving, spreading, promoting and enriching the Vietnamese national cultural identity.
To implement the contents and tasks of the project in Dong Nai, the Vietnam Youth Union of the province is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units based on the direction and guidance of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union to develop a specific plan to implement the project in the locality. The plan must specify the goals, targets, and tasks, in accordance with the actual conditions and needs of young people in the province. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presides over and coordinates with the Department of Home Affairs, agencies, units, and localities to create conditions for the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels to implement pilot models on youth preserving and promoting ethnic culture in the locality.

Secretary of Bom Bo Commune Youth Union Le Thi Thu Thuan shared: At the Resolution of the 1st Congress of Bom Bo Commune Youth Union, term 2025-2030, the Commune Youth Union set out specific targets. In particular, every year, organize at least 1-2 activities to introduce to friends and other units about local tourism, Stieng ethnic culture, especially the Stieng Ethnic Cultural Conservation Area in Bom Bo commune. In addition, the Commune Youth Union deploys models such as: filming videos introducing cuisine, brocade weaving, traditional spaces of local ethnic minorities; supporting the digitization of images and cultural documents for long-term preservation and dissemination on social networks. Young people are also encouraged to participate in start-ups and innovation from local products such as cuisine, handicrafts, and typical agricultural products. The commune delegation also cooperated in guiding tourists to experience the Stieng culture, contributing to preserving and promoting sustainable national cultural values.
The creation of close and creative cultural practice spaces is also encouraged by schools in the province. Lac Hong Bilingual Primary, Secondary and High School (in Tran Bien Ward) has just launched a special project called Folk Art Painting - an art playground where students can live in a traditional cultural atmosphere and freely express their creative talents.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tri, Head of the Literature Group in charge of the topic, said: This activity is for all students from grade 6 to grade 12, organized in the form of dramatization with 3 contents: performing recycled national costumes; singing, folk dancing and dramatizing folk plays. Through this topic, students will gain a deeper understanding of the value of Vietnamese folk art; foster love for cultural roots and awareness of preserving national identity. At the same time, the activity also helps students practice creative thinking, teamwork skills, presentation and stage performance...
“The theatricalization has contributed to transforming literary works from quiet pages into lively performance spaces, helping students easily receive, easily perceive and become more interested in folk literature. From there, it contributes to nurturing national pride and love of Vietnamese culture in the young generation.”
Ms. NGUYEN THI TRI, Head of Literature Group, Lac Hong Bilingual Primary, Secondary and High School
