Specifically, in Phieng Ban village, Na Tau commune, due to prolonged heavy rain, cracks appeared, forming a large slide, directly affecting the lives of 4 households with 18 people.

Mr. Lo Van Cuong, Vice Chairman of Na Tau Commune People's Committee, said that the slide is about 25m long, the height of the slope is about 30m from the top of the slide to the road surface and the slide area is up to several hundred square meters. In particular, the largest crack divides the entire hillside into two separate parts. According to observations, the crack on the slide is increasingly widening, the crack gap has sections of nearly 40cm and the subsidence is up to 1.5m, if there is heavy rain, there is a risk of landslide with a volume of about 1,000 m3 of soil.

Mr. Bui Manh Cuong, resident of Phieng Ban village, is one of the four households directly affected. He said: At around 5:00 p.m. on September 16, hundreds of cubic meters of soil on the hillside behind his house suddenly collapsed, causing the surrounding wall to collapse, flooding the family's toilet and outbuildings. Immediately after the incident, the family was very worried and reported it to the local authorities, hoping for a quick solution so that people could live in peace.

Due to the impact of heavy rains that have lasted since the beginning of August, in Na Tau commune, in addition to the 4 households in Phieng Ban village that were affected, there are about 15 households living in Ban Xom, Trung Tam, and Na Tau 2 villages, which are also in areas at high risk of landslides, endangering people's lives. In this situation, the local government has mobilized people and their property to move to a safe place.

According to Vice Chairman of Na Tau Commune People's Committee Lo Van Cuong, in order to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, the local government has asked households living in areas at high risk of landslides to urgently evacuate people and property to safe places such as cultural houses and relatives' houses. In the long term, the commune government is coordinating with the city's functional agencies to find solutions as soon as possible so that people can stabilize their lives soon.
