According to Major General Van Ngoc Que, Deputy Head of Political Affairs of the Border Guard Command, on January 31, 2026, the Border Guard Command will organize the "Spring Border Guard Festival: Warming the Hearts of Local People" in Huong Xuan commune, Ha Tinh province, with the participation of leaders of the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense .
The program is expected to donate nearly 1,000 gift packages, 200 "Helping Children Go to School" scholarships, 4 "Borderland Shelter" houses, and 31 breeding cows to people in border areas. Along with that, there will be traditional cultural and sports exchange activities; a "Zero-Cost Booth"; visits, New Year greetings, and gift-giving to Party committees, government officials, armed forces, and policy beneficiary families; and free medical examinations, health consultations, and medicine distribution for over 600 people...
A key highlight is the political and artistic program "Spring at the Border: Warming the Hearts of the Local People," which will be grandly organized, meaningful, of high artistic quality, and with profound, humane content... and will be broadcast live on VTV1, Vietnam Television, at 8:10 PM on the same day.
On this occasion, the Border Guard Command and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also agreed to direct the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Border Guard Commands of border provinces and cities to coordinate in organizing the "National Border Guard Day" with many rich and meaningful activities. This is to practically celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Border Guard's Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2026) and the 37th anniversary of the National Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2026), so that the "National Border Guard Day" truly becomes a day of great unity for people nationwide, a New Year's Day for the people and the military for ethnic minorities in border and island areas.
The Border Guard Command has also directed the Border Guard units in provinces and cities to organize a review and evaluation of the effectiveness, significance, and widespread impact of outstanding movements, programs, models, and initiatives of the Border Guard in all aspects of its work; those that have had a positive impact and effectively served the management and protection of national territorial sovereignty and border security, and the comprehensive development of strong border areas. The goal is to organize a program to honor exemplary collectives and individuals who have made significant contributions and achieved outstanding results in implementing these movements, programs, models, and initiatives during the 2020-2025 period.
The Border Guard Command has directed relevant agencies to coordinate with units inside and outside the force to organize the commendation of "Outstanding Young Faces in the Border Guard" in 2025, the "March Border Month" program, and the "Youth Month" program in 2026; units to organize the reception of new recruits and organize training deployments... along with a number of other activities.
