The exhibition, organized by the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, commemorates the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), and looks forward to the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).
The exhibition features works by many artists such as Thuy Huong, Nguyen Thi Thu, Ta Thi Thanh Tam, Le Huong, Vuong Manh Lan, Dao Van Tuan, etc., with diverse and distinctive artistic styles.

Each artist brings a unique approach to the lotus flower imagery, ranging from realistic and expressive to stylized and abstract – contributing to a rich, profound, and emotionally resonant artistic space.
The lotus flower – a recurring motif throughout the exhibition – is not only a symbol of pure and noble beauty in Vietnamese culture but is also closely associated with the life and admirable character of President Ho Chi Minh .
Through paintings on various materials such as silk, oil paint, lacquer, and watercolor, the "May Lotus" exhibition contributes to spreading humanistic values, arousing national pride, love for the homeland, and profound gratitude towards President Ho Chi Minh.

In her opening remarks at the exhibition, Ngo Thi Thuy Duong, Head of the Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board, stated that the "May Lotus" exhibition brings together many artistic personalities. The lotus flowers in the exhibition are not merely vibrant in color, but also represent the culmination of modern creative thinking built upon heritage.
Viewers encounter here the delicate softness of lotus blossoms on silk, imbued with femininity and inner depth; and the free-spirited, innovative approach to experimentation with traditional materials such as oil paint, lacquer, or dó paper.

All these elements combine to create a new image for the lotus flower in contemporary art – one that is both pure and serene, yet full of vibrant life, reflecting the very character of the Vietnamese people.
Through the image of the simple yet noble flower associated with the life of our beloved President Ho Chi Minh, the organizers hope that the exhibition will awaken national pride and love for the homeland in every citizen and visitor.
The exhibition runs until May 25th.
