To conserve the red-crowned cranes, authorities and experts have been implementing many measures. Among these, in December 2023, Dong Thap province approved the Project on conservation and development of red-crowned cranes in Tram Chim National Park for the period 2022 - 2032 with the theme "Bringing the cranes back", aiming to have at least 50 cranes living year-round in the natural environment. Of the total cost of implementing the above Project, about 56 billion VND is for receiving, transferring, raising, breeding and releasing cranes; 24 billion VND is for ecological restoration; 35 billion VND is for building ecological agricultural areas and 51 billion VND is for investing in infrastructure equipment... According to the plan, within 10 years, Dong Thap province will receive 60 red-crowned cranes transferred by Thailand and agree to cover the cost of 1.2 million USD (nearly 30 billion VND) for the neighboring country to raise the cranes, train staff, send experts to inspect and support. The project aims to release 100 cranes into the wild, with a survival rate of 50%. Photo: Znews.

Authorities and experts will build a sustainable ecological agricultural production model (rice), combining well between ensuring people's livelihoods and the environment around the crane breeding area to release the cranes into the natural environment. Photo: VNA.

In addition, communication should be promoted to raise awareness among domestic and international communities, to understand correctly and fully the values that the red-crowned crane conservation and development program at Tram Chim National Park brings. Photo: TANG A PAU/Nguoi lao dong.

In the coming time, mobilize and call for more resources to serve the conservation of red-crowned cranes and biodiversity conservation in Tram Chim National Park. In addition, invest in equipment and basic infrastructure to ensure good service for the red-crowned crane breeding and release areas in the next phase. Photo: ICF.
